Daryl Z71's 2006 Silverado Z71 Re-build

If it's working the trouble code will clear right away and the CEL will shut off soon (unless it's got another reason to be on ). I blew it out once before I replaced it. If the solenoid is seized up you can probably free it up, but better to replace it with the revised version IMO.

Yeah the other piece in the picture is the remote filter, they say to put it on top of the tranny but I thought it would be cleaner under the hood. No issues with it there (yet).

So yesterday I did ALOT of work on the truck.

First thing I did was run to the local truck garage to have a new set of U-Bolts made.

Then I dropped the gas tank to paint inside the frame rail, install new tank straps, and remove the bolt for the leaf springs.

Cleaned, and painted the inside frame rail where the gas tank goes. The Chassis Saver Paint I bought for this is good stuff. Goes on, and sticks like glue. Dries nice too, and seems durable.

Some shots of it this morning put back together. Still have to finsh prep work, and paint work on the frame.

That's coming along nicely!

Did you brush on the Chassis Saver or spray it? (LVLP?)

If you sprayed it, did you use their S8 Reducer, or thin it with something else?

I actually brushed it on. My original plan was to have my dad spray it on, but I couldn't find the S8 reducer locally. I didn't want to use anything besides the S8 just to be safe.

Decided to finish painting my frame today for the most part. It has 2 full coats on it now. I still have a few spots here, and there to hit yet, and I think I'm going to give it a third coat.

looks like it is coming along nicely.

Thanks. One more coat of the Chassis Saver, bend, flare, and install the brake line, and buy and install a new ACDelco Fuel Pump is all I have left to do then the bed will be going back on.
