Daryl Z71's 2006 Silverado Z71 Re-build

My can makes a hissing noise, from what I can collect it's the suction force collapsing the hose. I even upgraded to transmission hose but it still makes it, not bad enough to drive me insane though lol. Some guys on the k2 trucks have upgraded to hydraulic hose but it's not worth my time or money to do that, it's not that damn bad haha

Do the K2 trucks have more suction then the older trucks? The one hose that came with the can is rated for 50psi, but I didn't have enough to do all of it so I got more at Napa. It doesn't say what it's rated for.

So I did a few things to the truck today. While I was underneath it I decided to look over my torsion bars and keys since I'm planning on adding new keys soon. Well it looks to me like the cross member that the keys go into is bent. Now I'm not so sure I should install the new keys without replacing the cross member. What does everyone else think?

looks like the bushings for the crossmember are gone that could be why the crossmember itself looks bent over.

found this video on you tube, this is for a HD but doesnt look much different other than the HD ones dont hang down as far as 1500 does

looks like around $100 for both sides, may be able to find them cheaper i just did a quick search at orielly's

Found those same ones on Rock Auto for $23 a piece plus I have a 5% coupon. I was hoping though that someone made some upgraded ones that are stronger.

just think those lasted over 200k miles, so if the dormans last that long then $46 is just a drop in a bucket. i never even realized there were bushings there until i started googling about torsion bar mounts, i was actually thinking the crossmember had to be replaced lol

I thought the whole cross member was going to need replaced too. I'm glad it doesn't. I might take it off and find someone to sand blast it.

Or wire wheel it as best as possible and hit it with some semi gloss rustoleum

I'd like to have it powder coated because that will hold up a lot better, but it'll probably cost too much. If I had a lift I'd have had the whole frame sand blasted.
