sahls01gmc
Yeah, that's the same road I went down. They do pretty well so far. Hard to notice a huge difference since they are rear brakes. No noise yet. I've hauled 12,000lbs recently and felt comfortable stopping. I'm sure the fronts will make a huge difference!
Daryl Z71
Awesome! Sounds good to me.
Daryl Z71
Would have preferred slotted only, but these will do. I'll have to check them regularly for cracks just in case. Hopefully I'll be installing them on Sunday. Edited May 7, 2015 by Daryl Z71

JaBradt85
Great work, I have been following this thread but I missed why the motor was taken out and or rebuilt/replaced. Edited May 11, 2015 by JaBradt85
Daryl Z71
Great work, I have been following this thread but I missed why the motor was taken out and or rebuilt/replaced.Thanks. The motor was swapped with one from a salvage yard with 75k miles on it because the original one was getting really bad fuel mileage, ran really rough at idle, and had a dry start issue along with bad oil pressure.
Daryl Z71
The truck stops great now. Pedal feel seems about as good as brand new trucks i've had in the past. Fuel mileage is leveling out at 16.2 mpg. Pretty happy with that. Bought an air evacuation tool from Harbor Freight, and some freon for the A/C System. Hoping to get that recharged this weekend. white1500
Is your brake fluid pretty decent too?
Daryl Z71
Yea, it's only maybe 6 months old. It all drained out when I replaced the one brake line.
Daryl Z71
Ordered a muffler. Had this one before, and I really liked the sound. Just going to have this muffler put on, and new 3" pipe with a tip from the muffler to the back of the truck behind the rear wheel. Planning on true duals with an H Pipe at some point eventually. Texas Husker
We're going to need a walk-around and test drive video here soon. Excellent work!
Daryl Z71
I'm definitely going to have to do that. I hope it sounds decent when I get this muffler on. I think it will.
