I saw a dyno graph from these DT's that showed an increase in HP & TQ. It was from a Camaro. Hoping it applies that way to the truck too. Edited April 24, 2015 by Daryl Z71

400hp and 400+ lbs/feet of torque would be nice setup with the 5.3's...

That would be pretty sweet. Wish I'd have bought a cam now, but oh well I guess.

Would need semi-aggressive cam, ported ans milled heads, long tubes, and tune for that. Youre talking of adding almost 100 HP. Blower is cheaper than all the other stuff

Are those numbers relatively reachable with a 6.0?

And NA power or bust for me but cams, tune, and headers would be a good basic combination

In the 6.0, LS6 cam, a decent set of heads, headers, and a tune can hit 400.

Wonder what HP I can end up at with the headers, intake, exhaust, and tune? Maybe 330hp at the crank?

I was referring to long tubes. Your setup and tune it is possible to hit that maybe 340. Dyno is subjective and ill let you do the math, but dyno after the swap said 325 at the wheels and it was just tune, intake, and MBRP exhaust made for the 4.8/5.3.

Yea, I won't see a whole lot of gain from shorties, but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Got the engine pulled today. Turned out to be a pain in the ass. We started around lunch time and didn't finish until about 11pm. Have to make a parts run tomorrow for a serpentine belt, transmission seal, and a few bolts, but after that the new motor is ready to go in.
