Daryl Z71's 2006 Silverado Z71 Re-build

I have a little hold up on the engine. Broke one of the longer rear oil pan bolts the other day. I have two on order from the local dealership just waiting for them to come in. I have to pull the pan back off tomorrow to get the broken one out. Also plan on installing the new knock sensors and intake gaskets tomorrow. After all that's done then it's ready to go into the truck.

Completed some engine work today. Painted a few things, and replaced the knock sensors, intake gaskets, and a few sensors. Glad I replaced the knock sensors because they had water laying in the holes, and the one sensor was corroded.

I apologize if you already covered it but did you replace the oil pressure sensor that's behind the intake manifold?

Yes I did. Replaced it with one made by Standard. I couldn't find an ACDelco one.

So I take it the 243 heads are on the LS2 also?

Yes. The 243 originated on the LS6. A dumbed down variety with heavier valves made its way to the LS2, L33, and LC9.

1 issue with that is pissing off a cop. Mine is done in-line with vehicle code meaning only 4 forward facing lights. Higs and lows on or lows and fogs. Not all 6 at once

I've talked with a few cops here in arkansas about my 4 low 8 high mod. The way our law reads is if auxiliary lighting is installed then no more than 4 forward facing lights on at a time. Meaning o well if they are factory lights...

You talked with a few. Thats it. 4 forward facing means just that. 2 lows and 2 fogs. Or 2 lows and 2 highs, 2 lows and 2 aux, 4 aux, or 2 higs and 2 aux. Ive tried to contest lighting issues before. You wont win if it comes down to it.

It gets tricky I'll give you that
