Mike1220's 2014 Sierra

Lol not weird at all man. All about personal preference. Kinda like how everyone wants 2 colors on a truck and I kinda like 3. (My black chrome and WDT). Kinda like these door handles, I'm starting to think it's really a lose cause cause I have a feeling I'll end up leaving the handles chrome lol. But hey, tomorrow after clear coating and installing, I could find out I'm wrong

I'm also a fan of the 3 tone look.

I like some of the color matched pieces, but sometimes it's a bit over done and looks too monochromatic.

It's a lot more fun to drive that's for sure

Now that I have the '14 to drive as a DD, I can finally taking her through some more holes [emoji106]

Damn that's a nice truck. When I see trucks like this it makes me think about my '04 Sierra. That was a great truck for me.

(Didn't mean to jump on this thread Mike)!

Thanks buddy! She was my DD for 3.5 years, my first vehicle, and I put a lot of blood sweat and tears into that thing lol. I was trying to get rid of it about two months ago and then I took her for and drive one day and realized I couldn't get rid of her just yet! Sunk wayyy too much money into that truck but modifications are soo addicting!

Sorry Mike for jacking your thread!

No prob yall. It is a very nice truck! It makes me wish I had been able to keep my ol Yukon. I would've done some similar mods to it and made it a "fun" truck haha.

Used some vinyl smoke wrap to smoke out the ambers on the mirrors today[emoji106]

Tomorrow starts my headlight project, come hell or high water, they (or at least one) will be getting opened and work started tomorrow!

What are you going to do with your VLed headlights?

Gonna try them at first in the FXRs. But in reality, I'll likely end up using the HIDs since they will probably perform a lot better. Makes me sad honestly especially after what I spent on the VLEDs and how long I waited for them [emoji20]

So If I can be happy with the VLEDs, then I'll keep them, if not, then they'll go up for sale.

So since I'm starting my headlight work tomorrow, or well, technically today, I have been thinking about possibly painting the chrome inside the heads. What do you guys think? I'm thinking I could either black it or colormatch it all. I plan to smoke the turn signals just like I did the mirrors, and whatever I do to the chrome, I'll do the other option to the black insert that is already in there. So if the chrome gets blacked, then the black piece will be colormatched and vise versa. Or if I don't touch the chrome. Then I don't touch the black thing. Just some thoughts and want to see what yall think as I'm on the fence and can't seem to fall either way

So it's looking like I'm gonna have to cut open my headlights..... Can't fit my headlights into the oven unless I put it on the lens. My oven has a lot of width but not much height

I'd leave the headlights alone as far as colors... I've never been a fan of messing with the interior pieces of headlights.

Just doesn't look right especially when color matched... There's nothing to break up the color and give it some character. I like to see 3 dimensions, not a sheet of paper when you look at a vehicle.

It's all personal preference though. I like to leave things more factory looking with subtle changes.
