So I have a few questions... I have been lurking around the forums and have not found the EXACT answers to my questions

1. Rear inner fenders are chipping after 180,000 miles... Would you recommend factory paint ( spray can from GM ) or prepping and bed liner in there ( other ideas? )

2. I plan on cleaning up the frame this spring/summer and hitting it with a combo of Motor oil ( cheap stuff ) and Transmission fluid ( Cheap stuff ) to slow down and prevent further rust.

3. ^^^ Is there a better option that would give me a black frame ( new looking ) that will prevent rust just as well ( not the alternative products that are commercial, we use this up here and it works ) If there is a commercial "paint" that will do the same but give me new shiney frame look then I will consider

4. I know this is corny as hell... but I like the black trim piece on the 2500HD's and what not on the hood... is there an aftermarket option without replacing my hood?

With my previous truck(2003) I cleaned the underside and gave it several spray cans of spray 'under coating', black. I had moderate rust. I don't know if it did a whole lot, but looked much better.

Your spray concoction of oil and hyd fluid should help a bunch. I may try some black POR-15 rust control a ways down the road with our new truck. Any attention you give it will be better tan nothing. I try to give the vehicles a wash as much as possible on the warmer Winter days.

Spent 2 hrs with an air house cleaning all the dirt and rocks out from the frame... another hour wire brushing... then I spent 3 hrs under coating, bed liner in the rear wheel wells and I did some touch up work on the rear back under part of the bed ( pics to follow soon ) I opted to do the oil just before snow flys this year ( soaking the inside of the frame and everything else )
