What would gas have to cost before you sell your truck?

Then compare it to private parks:

Bundy Hill here in MI charges $20/day for just a driver or $150 for 10 visits.

Rausch Creek wants a $15 annual membership then $35/day on top of that.

Superlift ORV park in Arkansas is $30/day too.

Really can't complain about Michigan's fees. Like CJ just said, at least we have state parks that allow it. NH has nothing for 4x4s. ATVs and dirt bikes have some options but if you want to wheel a 4x4 you'll be looking for private property or class 6 roads.

I don't know what price it would take. I've only ever owned and driven trucks. Last car this side of the family had was over 15 years ago. Do I need a truck? Nope, will I own one as long as I don't have to sell some organs? Yep. This truck is paid off, my last one was paid off when gas went above $4 a gallon and I was paying $120 a week just to go to work. Seems like the best time to get a new truck is during a gas "crisis."

Find what? Who the heck is OPPO?

Gas would have to cost a lot more than it does now before I'll get rid of my truck. It's paid off and a new "fuel efficient" car will just cost me more insurance and bring back monthly payments so any money saved would be spent there instead of the fuel tank. Plus I'd end up having to borrow a truck from someone constantly as I'm also towing or hauling something in my truck so I'd still be paying for gas to go into a "gas guzzler." Lose, lose situation for me....I'll keep my truck and the blazes with gas prices.

When they jump 20$ and add an extra sticker that's basically the same thing as the orv for the hell of it that pisses you off. They are supposed to keep jumping up too. The dunes are a joke anymore.

Yeah, $<40 for a year of access to the only open, essentially unrestricted dunes this side of the Mississippi is absurd. Small price to pay for excellent state parks. The folks in Lansing are about as responsible as a teenager with their first credit card but one thing this state has done right is the park system. Really can't argue that IMO. Try to find a cheaper year long permit that is good in the various locations Michigan ORV stickers are.

Gas would have to get pretty expensive for me to oak it, but I'm preparing to split millage with another car right now. I am in the process of refurbing the prius I bought my mom back in 07. I just need it to share my miles on so my insurance doesn't go through the roof. Right now the insurance on both cars is sitting a little over 3 grand because I'm averaging about 35-40k miles/year right now.

That's a new one for me, share your miles. My insurance is the same no matter the miles or which car or truck I drive. Tickets or Wrecks make them go up.

You can qualify for a discount if something is a "leisure" vehicle and is only driven <8000/year. That number may vary depending on the carrier but same idea. Otherwise I've never been asked.
