Next gen duramax!

Unless the new Colorado is a proven platform, that will be the only diesel engine I will get. Really, that would be an over kill being I only haul around maybe a dirt bike lol

Serves GM right imo, I test drove a 14 silverado the other day and loved it, but can't get over how much higher the prices are since i bought my 09. Looking at Toyota, Ford, and Ram, GM's def are higher, at least on mid trim. The Ram express has caught my eye lately with the 8 speed, and it's within a thousand dollars of a base 2wt Chevy. Seems like they're trying to raise prices so they can ask crazy prices for the Colorados and claim they're much lower than an equal Silverado

I won't be needing a new truck for a while but when the time comes I probably won't be looking at another GM unless they do something on price. And ive been a diehard GM guy all my life. Probably look at either a Tundra or F150. It ridiculous how much more they are compared to my 08.

All trucks have their problems so its almost a crap shoot. But I agree, they need to do something fast or they are going to lose a lot more buyers.

It is a proven platform. It should be the same diesel that they have been using in Australian Colorado for years.

Either way the other guys must be doing something right. Isn't gaining market share part of the game? Even though they are deeply discounting trucks I doubt they are losing money overall and still making a nice profit.

Why is it (in the general media) when GM puts cash on the hood to sell vehicles they are admitting the vehicle is bad. When Ford, Ram or anyone else does it, it is business as usual?

While I agree GM truck prices are up & they need a much better entry level full size truck offering, there definitely seems to be a double standard.

Edit: adding link.

I don't think it's that people are saying the truck in General is bad.

The problem becomes though the perceived value of the vehicle. If people don't like looks/styling/etc people aren't going to pay the prices that GM wants. An all new platform that nobody trusts and oh by the way let's jack up the price is the wrong idea. Where as, if they would have made the changes and improvements and walked the price up while keeping the publics view of a good buy/value then they could justify the price increase. Right now nobody trusts nor wants to pay higher for a vehicle that is not a proven platform.

People at the moment are going on GMs word that it is a good value and right now that word is a little tarnished.

The current Duramax is not one of GM's issues causing sales to fall.

I never said that the current duramax is one of GM's issues causing sales to fall, I was saying what he should consider for his next truck..
