I know this is an old thread, but I was just wondering if the drain plus is the same on the 2016 1500s. Just about everything else seems to be the same for the 2014+ trucks, but I wanted to make sure before I bought a magnetic plug. First new truck in my life and want to do my best to take care of her.

TIA

I could have sworn my dealership told me I got 2 free oil changes, not 4.

Same here, and it even says it right on the window sticker that was in the truck.

Has anyone done thier own oil change? Just wondering how easy/difficult it may be.

ive been driving for 48 years, and owned my own cars since I was 16, and I can count on 1 hand how many times ive had my oil changed by someone other than myself...

and I still change oil in my 2 daughters, and one son-in-laws truck...

I should use the free ones, but its an inconvenience for me, although I did use one on the 2015 I just traded, while it was in for recalls, and they gave me another truck to drive.

Easy...? yes...I have floor jacks, and jack stands, and tools...and 55 gallon drums for the used oil, which I give to someone that has a waste oil furnace.

if you've never done it before, let someone who has, show you...

Yep, in 2016 they only got 2 oil changes free and less miles on the warranty.

I bought the 2017 in Ohio @ Greenwoods...they said GM pays for 2, but theyre giving the other 2...

i'll change the oil on this truck around 2000, but wont reset the oil life...then let the dealer change it when says to...

i'll probly use semi-synthetic, as that's what they'll use...
