Would you have paid for onstar service as an option at purchase?

At the dealer yesterday and they said they heard GM might make onstar service available like a service contract where the customer could buy (finance) it at purchase.... Thought it was interesting I know many won't pay the $15 a month yet they get in that business office and. As long as that payment works they buy whatever.... Personally I used turn by turn nav once and it was wrong (relatively new subdivision told me to go left should have been right lost for a half hour trying to find the place I was going) and I used the hands free calling a few times before I got my Bluetooth stereo so no value in it for me just thought this was an interesting way for them to sell it

I don't drive as much as I used to but even if I did I don't think that OnStar is all that great. We have become a bunch of Idiots when it comes to bells and whistles. I don't think OnStar should be automatically put on every vehicle that they make. I have had it on my last 4 GM's and did not ever use it. So no I would not pay for it on my monthly payments.

My last truck had it. I got called from the onstar on airbag deployment. I did have help coming but glad she was there. My new truck is a work edition,so it has the onstar delete. Couldn't get it even if I wanted it. plowking

Onstar already leaves me curious how much money I have given them via buying the vehicle? Granted that is not the service contract side, but you know you are paying for the system to be there regardless.

No.

I did not use it when I had it free for X months. Prefer my phone and GPS. I might be interested in it if the price came down. I might be willing to do a much cheaper per month charge, say $7 with additional charges if you call them and actually USE a real person.

Plowking you can get onstar even though its not on your truck from the factory, here is just many places you can get it from. http://www.amazon.com/OnStar-FMV-Rearview-Mirror/dp/B005DR8OYO search online for "onstar mirror" and you will find them.

I like the month to month option rather than signing a contract and being tied to it. We currently have it on both our GM vehicles at a discounted rate of $13 per vehicle.....been thinking of cancelling the Wifes being she drives 8 miles a day....but we'll keep it on my truck since it's the one we usually take places

ive been debating for almost 2 months now whether or not to activate onstar. the command start and diagnostics would be the two features that interest me the most. also, as previously mentioned, if I ever locked myself out would be handy and probably pay for itself

Only time I have used on-star in the almost ten years of owning my Silverado was when I accidently hit the button on my steering wheel, the lady on the other end was nice and understanding but I think the service itself is rather redundant today and not needed with how cell phones have developed.
