Aftermarket Grille Options?

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys. Truck is summit white. Used the white plasti dip and then 4 coats of plasti dip glossifier. Got it all from lowes. Sorry about the pic without a comment there. Completed my own retro on my srt4 here because they come with regular reflector headlights. Still work to this day. Gotta get this done next on the truck.post-129479-139939681328_thumb.jpg

Btw, if anyone is interested in doing this here is what I suggest.

1. Lay down a few coats of grey plasti dip first

2. Then apply many coats of white because it doesn't coat as thick as plasti dip black.

3. Then go back in to aplly several coats of glossifier.

Trick is let the plasti dip cure atleast 10 to 15 minutes between coats. Long process for me.

Nice job. The original photo looked like it was a White Diamond and here I got thinking that you figured out a combo on how to get the WDT in plasti-dip.

How close was your match with the plasti-dip vs. your summit white?

White Plastidip in person does not match Summit White very well, mainly because of how the glossifier/clear affects the color. Plus the sheen of not being real clear affects the color output. Once Performix releases their new "Super Clear" you might have more luck with white plastidip on summit white. It is supposed to be equivalent to real automotive paint clear.

However I used the Plastidip Pearlizer on my Esacalde WDT and it is a near perfect match, enjoy...

post-129479-139941152277_thumb.jpg I think the color matches summit white pretty well but you are right about the (dullness) of the white compared to the rest of the paint. When they actually come out with a clear it will be going on.

Cheap alternative and gave me a reason to tear into my truck.

Pics? Did you have take the grille off to do this? Did you use the glossifier?

I tried to post one must not have taken... No I did not use the glossifier, I didn't want a glossy look. post-129878-0-77039600-1399420978_thumb.jpg

Thanks! Looks nice. I was wondering what it'd look like plastidipped.

When I was shopping most of the packages I wanted had the chrome grille I didn't like. Did you remove the grille to plastidip it?
