Aftermarket Grille Options?

Recommended Posts

OK. Here is the way it goes. There are 3 different install options. I installed option 2 below:

REPLACEMENT BILLET GRILLE:

(1) Z71 ONLY - 2 piece Replacement (black plastic grille comes out, new billet bolts in...no cutting)

(2) LTZ, LT - 2 piece Replacement (CUT most of the grille out leaving some portions/tabs on the oem grille to bolt the new billet grille --SEE ATTACHED PIC

or

BOLT-OVER BILLET GRILLE:

(3) Z71, LTZ, LT - 2 piece bolt OVER (bolt new billet grill directly over the oem grille leaving the stock grille visible in the background)

I am not sure why the Z71 can be a direct replacement, but the LTZ/LT grille needs cutting. I haven't looked at the Z71 grille to compare. Check out this Autoanything link and you will see all install options listed. keep in mind you can order in three finishes - black, polished, brushed billet grilles.

Not to be a pain in the ass - but back to my original question. Is it possible to put the center of an All-Terrain grill in the chrome surround of an SLT. Or do I have to cutting and fabbing. I'm having the grill of my truck fixed after a little incident so I'm hoping that I can get an All-Terrain grill installed but keep my SLT chrome surround.

I just installed a AT grill and I didn't see a obvious way to remove the center part of the grille.

I'll check when I pull it back off in a day or 2 (it got dinged up on my road trip)

I'm wanting to make my bow ties black. What's the best and easiest way? It's in a 14' silverado.

Wrapping them is the easiest, no taping off and spraying!

Thanks Full Lock

It only took a couple of months but I think you finally answered my question.

No prob but I will say, I wasn't really looking for a way to remove it but I think I would've seen it if it was indeed removable.

I've been super busy and haven't had a chance to work on my truck but I think I can carve out some time this week to R&R the grille and get some pics too..... As long as I don't forget ha

Awesome - thanks for the help man. I've still got a couple of weeks before mine goes into the shop.

post-129479-139939403196_thumb.jpg I plastidipped the outside chrome on my grill to see what it looked like. post-129479-139939408401_thumb.jpg took the front end and the grille apart to do it.

That looks awesome 440hsp. I can't tell from the photos but is your truck white or WDT. And if it is WDT, what combo of plasti-dip did you use.
