REAR END NOISE

I have a '99 Z71 with alomst 90,000 and there is a noise in coming from the rear end when i take off from a stand still. Does anyone know what this is caused by and can it be fixed?? thanks

Do a search for driveline clunk. Others, myself included, have had problems with a clunk when starting or stopping. There are several solutions or treatments. You can grease the splines on the slip yoke, change the transfer case fluid, or get the new nickel plated yoke. I've had all 3 and no more problems.

thanks for the reply, how extensive is greasing the splines? something i can do??

They put me a nickel plated yolk in yesterday, not a peep since picked it up from the shop.

I believe to grease it, you have to pull the driveshaft out/off to get to the yoke, but I could be wrong. The dealer took care of mine under warranty each time thankfully.
