Yeah, not cool. Not me, but not cool. Unfortunately there have been a few screwups, GM says 85 that they are aware of. Here's a couple of threads detailing some of the issues. Right now the car that I ordered minus the spare sits about ten miles from me. Sure want the one I ordered (TPW 03/12) but sure thinking about pulling the trigger on the one that's close, and built correctly... :dunno:

I wish they'd build one with less bells and whistles. Cloth seats and the usual power accessories are all I want and it'd probably get the car into the mid-$30k range.

I am with you there. Unfortunately, some vehicles are only available fully loaded becaase manufacturers make a lot more money this way. For example, if you wanted a 2013 Infiniti G37 4 door sedan with a 6 speed manual transmission (2013 was the last year for that one) you had to buy a fully loaded S model with standard navigation, sunroof, heated leather memory seats, backup camera, parking sensors, electric telescopic steering wheel, etc. This pushed the base vehicle price to almost $ 40k.

Acura also had a 6 speed manual transmission offering on their V6 sedan in 2014 (last year for that one), but it was only available on a full time 4WD model with every conceivable option standard with the sticker well over $ 42k.

Hello all. Been away for a while, thought I'd update me sig with the new ride. Ordered in December, took possession June 17. MikeNH, hi bud, been a while. You're not alone in wanting a stripped down model. Mid 30's probably would never happen. If I recall the '09 G8 GXP was about 40K, without all of the mylink magride forward collision lane departure self parking backup camera rear brembo... yada yada yada. You know what I mean. As for the car, it's a blast. The magride and 6M set it apart from my '14, which was the best car that I had ever owned. A pic or two, a link or two, and back to your regularly scheduled programming. I hope this finds all of you well. Mike, Chris, Ryan, Sarah and all of you!

Thanks Ryan, thanks Justin. You can find the cars, there are some unsold '14's out there at great prices also. The manual trans cars are a little more difficult to find. Most were customer orders and not many dealerships ordered the manual. Last I heard there was a jungle green 6M no sunroof car in Indiana that was an order that the gentleman backed out of with a new wife and new house. I mention this only because Ryan is in Indiana (I think) and because the car is #1 of 1 as optioned...
