Troubleshooting Blown ENG-1 Fuse

Recommended Posts

new member.... here my problem

Vehicle: 96 2wd Yukon w/ 350 Vortec- stock with the exception of headers

need the procedures/spec to test the following sensors:

MAF

Crankshaft position sensor

Camshaft Position sensor

Purge canister Valve

These are all the sensors shown on the ENG-1 fuse in a Haynes Manual

Reason - truck stalled one day and check engine light went on. Blew the ENG-1 fuse. Truck started again and ran on what I beleive is the limp home mode since some pretty important sensor were knocked out.. Had local shop pull the codes off the computer - showed a camshaft position and MAF.

Found the blown fuse and replaced, drove the truck and once it hit 2500 rpm the truck stall and the fuse blew again. Again knocking out power to the 4 sensors. Interesting thing is the computer did not show codes for the crankshaft and purge valve even though power was knocked out to them also.

Does anyone have acess to a shop manual or other source that gives output ranges of the sensor or resistances such that I can check each to see each is working correctly. Then worst case start looking for bare wires.
