Our district bought this thing (M548) back in August of 02 and they have been retrofitting it for firefighting use

So far so good on this brush fire this last weekend .

This thing can do the job that would take two units to do with its on-board 700 gallon water tank , pump , foam system and its front blade it can cut a fire line and attack the fire at the same time

Some of you might have seen a few of these before at ski resorts and such .

Cool  :thumb:

If that came into my work I'd have to drive it

I use to drive APCs', (I think you guys call'em m111's)

Those have neat steering (Tiller bars), and will just about go anywhere.

I hope you get to drive it, Fun fun.

Its the M113 here...seems just about everyone of our allies has them in one form or another.  Didn't know you were ex-Canadian Army, that is pretty cool. :thumb: Your Army needs some new tanks though...those Leopard Is are getting pretty old...

One of my best buds is driving a M1A2 Abrams right now at the NTC in California...he is in the Nevada Guard.  He love armour.

That is a pretty neat fire vehicle.  I am surprised I haven't seen anything like that out here in the desert.  We have brush fires out here, in hard to reach terrain all of the time.
