I just did a touch-up on mine this weekend. Resprayed the whole frame with fluid film using a cheap harbor freight spray gun. I was able to almost "fog" the inside of the frame with it. Found several sections that I had missed previously that had big chunks of wax that had pulled away from the frame. Ripped tge wax off, painted the area, and sprayed it down with fluid film.

How long does it take for the smell to go away?

I've noticed rust around some edges in different spots on my frame, noticeably in the rear wheel wells. I've kind of ignored it, it looks like it's just surface rust. But my cousin was showing me his new '15 Ram, and it looks immaculate underneath. Mine never looked that good even when it was new. And now that this thread has popped up again I'm wondering if I should take it in and have it taken care of?

Edit: It was bugging me after reading this, went out to take a picture and was quite easily able to take a big flake of wax off. Here's a pic of the flake and some of the rust in the wheel well.

miles and it looks perfect hope it stays that way.

My 2015 GMC Sierra Crew cab has many areas of rust on the frame....I've got 200 miles on it and it's 5 days old. Went to the Chevy dealership and found similar conditions on new trucks in the lot...predominantly crew cabs manufactured in Mexico. Have forwarded pics to my dealership and am waiting to hear. Totally stressed out as this was a huge expense for me. Would like to just give it back.

This is something I noticed on the lots when I was looking . I made sure my frame looked good and at 1500 miles still rust free , it has a nice even coating and looks like new everywhere i can see. I would feel the same as you do and I passed on a couple of trucks just because of this. Mine is also a crew cab made in mexico. When is your manufacture date? Must be something different in the recess or I just got lucky I guess. or maybe the rust gremlins will get me in the future who knows but I must say it made the trucks look old to me.

How about these pics? Truck has 250 miles on it. Supposed to go in for tsb repair next week. Hard to believe. I don't expect much from the repair or this truck long term.

That sucks! Good luck, hopefully they can fix it and make it right.

When I pick up my truck tomorrow from a place I got undercoat done. It's called armaguard which is identical to linex. They spray the whole underside except drive train and exhaust. Will post pics tomorrow.

I am looking at coating my 2015 silverado with a rust preventer? I have looked at the flowing brands waxoyl, fluid film, sems rust preventer, seal out. I think the factory Frame wax is waxoyl products not 100% sure. What did you used and are you happy with the results.

Here's some pictures of my undercoat. It actually comes with a lifetime (originally thought it was only 1 year) warranty for the life of the truck as long as I own it. Any part that chips, peels, globs off they touch it up and blend free of charge.

Most parts of the frame and underbody were done all around (and inside from what i can see)that didn't require removal of something major. Under the engine bay was left alone due to dealers requiring most access for services underneath.

They sprayed over the factory wax which if it ends up falling off they just touch up anyways. It looks like the factory wax when it's brand new but is hard as rock to the touch.
