His vibration can be caused by ANY faulty tire, it's not 10ply specific.

If you are worried about ride quality, you will definitely notice it. The guys that don't notice it are numb. Lol 10 plus are very stiff, and heavy.

Word of advice, rarely trust the dealer. I just had them tell me that the speedometer will adjust itself if i was to change tire size and that wasn't a salesman, It was the service writer. (Technically I guess that's a salesman

I've had these tires before, just not in a 10ply. I think I have to go 10 ply to get this size and up anyways.I expect to notice the difference just wondering if it will be too much.

"Too much" is subjective. On a 1/2 ton it would be too much for me unless I had 10" of lift and it already rode like a stagecoach. If it was a just a truck that I used to chase the cows around I would be ok with them. A daily driver... I would shop around for something a little more forgiving. This is all my opinion, on the plus side.... Your chances of a flat are greatly reduced.

I run my 10 ply tires at close to the same pressure I ran the stock tires at. Unless you pump them way up I doubt you'll notice much difference from the set you had before. The major change I noticed was how "stable" the 10 ply feel compared to P metric.

And I agree about the flats part. I haven't had a flat yet with the 10 ply. I had 5 in just one tire when I took of the OE tires...

I upgraded from 275/55/20 Goodyear Wranglers to 275/65/20 BFG AT-KO.... I also had a Rough Country leveling kit installed.

The only noticeable difference is the MPG, I lost about 3 mpg.... Oh, the other difference is now my truck doesn't loose traction in wet grass... :chevy:

Sledge-

I'm considering the same tire and level upgrades as you.

When you say you lost 3 mpg, is that hand calculated or from truck info screen?

Have you had the speedo and odometer recalibrated with the taller tires?

If not calibrated correctly, wouldn't you actually be getting better mpg, as the odometer would show less miles than actually traveled.

Not totally sure how the math works.

Yes.. Speedometer is 10% slow then MPG is 10% low.

So if mpg was hand calculated at 16 then it would actually be 17.6 and if spedo reads 70mph actual speed would be 77, right?

What would be the least expensive route to take to have everything recalibrated? Not interested in tune.

Ever hear of a dealer making that one correction in shop?

Not to hijack, but if we're talking different tire sizes, maybe others would like to know.

You are correct on the math.

As far as recalibrating the speedo at dealer, I really don't know, but it is a good question. I would think that they would be able to do simple calibration changes such as that but I can't say that I have ever seen it nor heard of it being done. Since I'm a tuner, I have never looked anywhere else besides my laptop.

I use BFGs all the time on work trucks, gone as high as 14 ply on half tons. Ride just as good as the stock tires. The key is air pressure and tire rotation. They will get loud and bumpy real quick if you don't rotate.

My father has that size BFG's on his gmt900 that is leveled. He runs 50lbs in the front and 40lbs in the rear. (We did the calk test) It rides firmer than stock, but it isn't bad by anymeans. He is getting around 15-16 around town, which is a decrease from the 17-18 he was getting. I believe you'll be happy with this setup.

Edit: I just read your last post. Im glad you're happy with them, I'm going to try to get a set this summer.

Never trust the dealer. I had them install my ready lift 2.25 level with UCAs. After 5k miles i kept feeling a thump. Come to find out none of the bolts were properly torqued... whether it was from my fluid film or not, i dont know (i doubt it). I had to buy a crows foot wrench to torque everything to spec.
