we have an Expected Ship month!

Recommended Posts

I popped by Alexander Chevy This Afternoon to order a new Cooling System Pressure Cap for My Little Aveo, and before I left the Dealer, I stopped by the New Car Showroom to drool over they only Chevy SS they had (Looks nice, Interior was sweet, and the Exhaust note was HEAVENLY), and I asked off hand when they would be expecting the Colorado and Canyon; and they said to expect them This August! so those of you waiting to either Downsize, or Replace the Colorado/Canyon you got now, you only have 6 months left to wait!

Thanks for the info. I'm curious to see these and see what the fuel econ numbers are. From what I read, size wise there's not a huge difference.

hoping the truck is sucessful just to prove FORD wrong.... they were going to do this and call it an F100... (still an F series for their Bullshit sales title) and their braindead owners in focus groups whines that it wouldn't tow enough........ WTF? THAT'S NOT WHAT IT'S FOR!!! lol

all the Loyal ranger guys around here either bought their last ranger when they could or are going to Toyota and Nissan. would be nice to see GM get a piece of that.

It's interesting...I was comparing the size of the new Colorado to the new Silverado and really there isn't a huge difference at all. Mid-size sure doesn't sound as "mid-size" anymore.

It really is an interesting truck. Definitely not like previous mid-sizers. When seeing the truck in person it was very similar to the silverado in size. I think the biggest differences are overall "bulk"you get with a full size. The folding armrest on the k2xx trucks, the long fist like nose of the truck. The Colorado and canyon will be much more similar to...say a traverse as far as layout goes. No bench seat option, just skinnier enough then the big boys to notice... And so on.

I like it, not that I don't love my k2xx truck, but face it, it's way more truck then I need...I must have a bed and gotta have room for the kids car seat, but I don't even tow. Yeah yeah 22mpg in these new trucks are "nice," but with the 30mpg mark for the new Colorado. Where do I sign?

Few dimensions I made note of when I was researching the Colorado....I thought they were pretty interesting......especially for those that haven't seen one in person yet.

I look forward to driving a extended cab Colorado....I hope you can get a sliding back window or sunroof, that's one of the things I haven't heard about yet.

208.2 in long…..Colorado Extended Cab….73.2 wide

212.6 in long......Colorado Crew Cab......74.3 Wide

----------------------

205.57 in long….Regular Cab Silverado…80.0 wide

230.03 in long …Silverado Crew Cab and Double Cab…80.0 wide

185.30 in long…..GMC Terrain……72.8 wide

200.00 in long….GMC Arcadia…..78.9 wide

190.6 in long…...Camaro…...74.7 wide

^you should also compare the dimensions to the Tacoma and Frontier trucks, they are pretty similar in size to the Canyon specs. And after sitting in the Tacoma and Frontier at the recent auto show, they felt narrow and cramped to me after being to used to a full-size truck. We'll see, I'll still like to check out the Canyon when it comes out, if I don't buy another new full-size truck before that.

Yeah I'm hoping the k2xx's hold thier values but with all these rabates they are throwing at em it's not looking like it. After finding out the diesel has a timing belt I think I'll pass unless that issue is worked out. As much as I hate to say it, I think these midsizers will have some serious competition in 2016 with the 2.8 cummins in thr frontier and the 3.2 power stroke that has been announced in the new transit.

Anyone heard anymore concrete dates for these new trucks?

I'm only guessing. I heard with the big recall that killed 13 that there's a lot of heads rolling around and they are trying to clean house and step up quality control. .

Again..only speculation that perhaps they are looking over anything that could cause a recall that involves law suits before they release these.

If they let them out the gate with failure written all over them..they will not last in the marketplace

Pretty sure that they will with any new vehicle that they bring out....all of the car company's are really under the microscope these days.

So that would make a lot of sense.
