Who else has this N-FAB step problem?

Got them put on and it seems the step is about six-eight inches too far forward for a clean step in?

Yeah.. You have them mounded on the wrong sides. Wondered the same thing when I almost did this on my old truck lol.

 

Correction... You have the full cab length so switching them up wouldn't be possible.. Hm. Oops

Yours are mounted correctly, I just installed mine for my double cab and they have the same problem.

I don't mind it since I rarely use it, plus it makes for an easy step out.

Yep, mine are the same. Getting in is fine for me but getting out I have to look for the step and it is kind of awkward.

My dad installed these on his truck and I thought the same as you guys when I used them.

 

I went with these ones because they provided more step. I'm happy with them. I don't really use them much getting out though.
