Dissatisfied with GMC Long going ordeal

Rebates in theory is money that is assigned to the customer and the customer can pay full price with a rebate check coming in the mail from GM after the fact. The reality is that rebates 99% if the time are credited back to the dealer and the dealer lowers the price out the door. Many states see rebates as customer money that GM gave you and not a reduction of the selling price for tax purposes.

I ended up trading and getting $1000 accessory rebate to make up for the price hike. I got $24,500 trade in on my 08 with 46k miles on it. They put it on their lot at $28,900 so I can't say that I am happy but not as mad as I was right away. I think I was more tired of waiting and not being able to get one for another 3-4 months that made me cave. No issues with the truck so far thank god and mileage is around 17 on my first tank so I'm happy with that anyway. I guess time will tell how I feel in the long run , but I do NOT plan on trading here again in the future.

Glad to hear your issue worked out.. Was waiting to hear what happened to the other guy with the scratch/no start issue, but it seems his thread was quietly closed.. hmmm..

Yeah what happened to that thread it was just getting interesting.
