Temperature read out

Recommended Posts

Anyone having issues with the temperature on the Intellink being stuck at the same temperature?

The other day it stayed at 2 all day and today it hasn't moved off 19 all day. The temperature outside is a lot higher

Yeah I've noticed mine being off a couple times. It read 32 one day when it was in the 50s. For the most part it's been right on but it has gotten stuck once or twice. I already made a mental note to keep my eye on it to see if it continues to malfunction.

I found this on the GM Techlink newsletter:

The outside temperature display in the radio may not update and displays at 32° F (0° C) on some 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 trucks. This condition may have started after disconnecting the battery or reprogramming a module.

The outside temperature will begin to update if driven above 20 mph for at least five minutes. If the vehicle speed drops below 20 mph, the timer will reset and the display will stop updating.Once the display starts to update, it may take several more minutes of driving above 20 mph for the display to fully update.

Further, if the vehicle sits for at least eight hours, the display will be updated when the ignition is turned on.

But it really does not address how to fix it. Unless you disconnect the battery to try and reset it.

Hmm come to think of it, that happened after I had the truck in for the fire recall. So that must have been it. I'll still keep an eye on it though. On a side note...how can I subscribe to this newsletter? Seems like it has some pretty useful information.

Mine is always off at least 3-5 degrees. Didn't really bug me until it read 35 the other day and was really 30....
