Installing side steps with DEF tank?

What is everyone's experience with installing side steps/running boards on their trucks with DEF tanks? I have no been given any great information other than people recommending their technicians do the install. I really like the RBP RX-3 step, but I can't find any installation information on them. Has anyone installed these steps with the DEF tank, and how did it go?

I have the GM oval step on my truck and the def tank dosent interfere with anything. I don't think they would make steps for these trucks that wouldn't fit on with the def tank

That's what I thought as well but I was given advice at a shop that sells steps saying to leave it for their technician because you have to move the DEF tank. Im waiting to hear from an RBP rep before I order an RX-3 step, but Im assuming they will give me the same answer as you just gave me. Installation should be a breeze, no?

I am not sure how or where you would move the DEF tank unless you removed it. I know that when I got a skid plate for the def tank they had changed up the way it mounted becasue of the AMP step mounting so I would say that the mfg of the steps should have taken the def tank into their planning on how to mount the steps.

Install should be a breeze.. I put GM ovals on a 1500 a few weeks ago and it was a breeze.. Take the truck to a spray wash and spray it out where the steps go

I think the salesmen was just trying to make some easy cash for his shop. It discouraged me enough to not buy a step from him, so his loss. I think I will go ahead and ship some new steps in and attempt the install myself.
