Factory OEM 22 inch wheels

I'd like to hear others opinions on the Factory OEM 22 wheels for the 14 SIerra and SIlverado. I'm thinking about buying a set and putting Nitto Trail grappler MTs on there. I told myself I'd never go to 22 inch wheels but there is a set that GM offers that's really sharp looking. I found a pic of them installed on a Sierra online. Suggestions, comments?

CTH,

I had factory 22's and my 2011 GMC Denali before I traded it in. They were Cadillac Escalade Platinum wheels. The ride was good and they looked sharp. I kept the factory bridgestone's on it. I kept my factory 20s and put those on when I traded.

I thought about doing 22's again for my 2014, but I like the wheels as they are right now. The all black is sharp. However, my wife's jeep has black factory wheels! and they do show scratches from car washes. Not a big deal to some, but I have OCD when it comes to my vehicles.

Great choice on wheels!

Thanks Will! Did you have your computer re-calibrated when you put the 22s on?

I have a Black 2014 Sierra Z71 4x4. I think these wheels will look great on it. Plan on getting Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 285 55 22. Have a RC 2 in level to put on as well.

Nice truck. Very sharp!

Great question. I asked the service adviser about that and he stated that since GM ran with 22's on some models, it was not necessary. He did mention if the wheels were aftermarket or 24's+, it would be a good idea.

Great choice on your wheel/tire combo.

Hi, I got a set of gm option 22s on my 14 silverado and love them. I only have the Bridgestone street tire but have not had any trouble with the wheels in ride quality.Discount tire set the sensors after putting them on. Can I ask what anyone has said to you about getting 24s ? I ask because the dealer has a nice set on showroom floor that are a 13 spoke design with the Chevy Bowtie on the center cap that I would like to get. I've heard some negatives but not enough to sway my decision yet. Thx

I got the dealer 22s in your picture installed on white diamond tricoat... they are sharp! Don't know about more weight or if dealer had to re calibrate but the dealer did install updated inflation tables. They came with Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza all season... ride is nice and quiet. haven't tried them off road.

These wheels are quite heavy and will affect you fuel economy somewhat in a negative way.

Yes they are, and that is because they are a "cast" wheel, cheaply made with inferior plating.

I run a set of "Forgeline" wheels that are 3 piece, directionally spun aluminum, they are lighter than the stock 20" pieces of junk that GM gives you.

Factory 22's (SEY) here with 285/45/22 Bridgestone Duelers. Personally, I wouldn't have any other wheel/tire combo on a Silverado/Sierra. They look and ride great, NO VIBRATION at all.... I do all city/highway driving, no off road. For that purpose you can't beat this combo. I probably would have bought the black GM 22's if these hadn't come on the truck...

Any pix on those? Thinking about ordering the 22 blacks on Summit white.

Would love to see a pic of the 14/15 Sierra 1500 on that size tire.
