The bugs of new models...

Recommended Posts

Seems to be a few issues with these new models as I'm doing my research. So far this has been a pretty good site for information regarding the 14's. My question is... Anyone without any issues at all?? Some of the issues are trivial but something like the no start issue is a pretty decent one. Sucks about the damn rear sliding window. As an interested buyer in an SLT Sierra, I sure would love to have a rear slider!

I have two 2014 Silverado's. Wife bought one last August and I bought one last October. No issues what so ever with either. Both trucks have the rear sliding window too.

rear window fix is in. I have never had any issue with mine.. but will get it fixed under the TSB.

As for issues... you need to remember GM is rolling out over 1,000 of these trucks each day. This forum account for a very small (.like .0008%) sample. Do the math...

My truck has been great... a few small issues.. but nothing I wouldn't expect from any new model..

The rear sliding window is now available again. I ordered my Silverado on Dec 23rd and I got the 250.00 credit. But I just heard from Gm customer service that it is now available and my truck now shows it in the RPO code list as it has a TPW of Fed 3rd.

Yes, it is a very small part of what is already sold out there, that I understand as well as the "new model" kinks. I'm always optimistic when it comes to vehicles and problems. I've owned 3 new vehicles and have never brought in either of them for issues. Ever! Not saying they were flawless, but the issues were stupid and I don't go running at small things. That's why I was curious about those without problems.

Awesome! Should be same for Sierra's correct?

I have owned 5 "first year" vehicles from different manufactures and have never had an issue. WIth that said, my 14 Sierra has been perfect. My neighbor bought his 14 Sierra in August and he also has zero issues.

There will be issues with vehicles during the last year of their production run. Doesn't matter if it's 1st year or the last year, there will always be some with issues.

the complaints on this board are a small representation of the trucks. Warranty will fix problems.... I love when people come on here looking for fixes for Brand new trucks.... Take it in that's what it's for!

Who's coming on here looking for fixes?? I was looking for feedback from owners who have no problems. Plus in my other reply earler I already acknowledged this site is not the whole but a small part. And I'm not even an owner yet so I can't really take it in. Thanks.

Had my Sierra AT now for 5 weeks and no problems mechnical issues what so ever. Had the latest Fire Recall done yesterday and am a bit concerned it dropped the milage a bit. Will give it a few days since the temps dropped by 35 degrees and am hopefull that's all that's causing the drop. Went from getting 16mpg around town on the 50 mile average down to 13.

It appears the majority of those having issues with their 14's live in arctic climate. Trucks failing to start, power steering issues, and various other electrical issues seem to be predominant.

Wondering where GM's R&D facilities and testing grounds are located? Somewhere in Arizona perhaps?

I was seeing a similar connection as well on issues. The cold really brings out the durability in things. LOL
