SiriusXM Travel Link and MyLink

I have the complementary 3 month trial of XM All Access, XM Travel Link, and XM NavTraffic. One of the options with the Travel Link is getting fuel prices for gas stations. I cannot find the app on my MyLink. Does anyone else with a 2014 have gas prices on their MyLink? My salesman couldn't find it on another truck at the dealership.

When I turn on the POI for Fuel and Automotive, I wil get the icons on the screen if I zoom in close enough. But it does not show gas prices. The main feature of Travel Link is to show gas prices for stations in your location, and work with the nav to get to it. I watched some MyLink videos GM has out. They show that you can add the Fuel Price icon to your home screen. Then when you tap the icon, it will list the gas stations in your area and the prices for fuel. From there you can sort the list by different criteria.

Another feature of Travel LInk is movie theaters. Should be similar to the fuel feature. Weather is also a feature of Travel Link, and I do have that.

I spoke with a GM Infotainment Specialist this morning. Basically our MyLink systems have the fuel prices and movie listing stuff built in with the Nav on the POIs, not as a separate home page icon like some of the GM videos show. The specialist was not sure how far you had to drill down in the nav screen to see the prices.

She also sent an XM Refresh signal to my radio to "reset" my subscription (trial sub of course) . We can do that ourselves. She said to Google "xm refresh". You will need your radio ID from channel 0. You enter the radio ID and the signal will be sent to radio within 5 minutes.

You have to go to the POI in your nav screen and select fuel. My truck is at the dealer so I am driving a rental, when I get if back I will post the exact directions.

So.....you're saying your "3 month trial" got extended by doing the reset?

No - it doesn't reset your subscription. It resets your XM services.

I am beginning to think that our version of MyLink does not have this capability to display fuel prices or movie theaters. I have been in contact with the GM Infotainment Specialists and XM Support. They say that if the service is available in my area, I should be receiving the signals. Went to my dealership today. My salesman and I got in a 2014 Impala which has the same MyLink radio set up. It too cannot get fuel prices or movie theaters. Then we got in a 2014 Camaro. No problems with getting fuel prices and movie listings. The camaro has the home icons for fuel and movies. The camaro also has the option to add more home icons under customizing. We don't have that. So I don't know why, when it says in the Silverado MyLink System manual that we can get the fuel price, that we can't find it.

I am beginning to think we have a stripped down version of MyLink. If it weren't for the weather option of Travel Link, I wouldn't even be thinking about subscribing to it.

If any members have the fuel prices on their MyLink, please let us know how you found them.

I tried it again last night and I got fuel prices to show up. Haven't tried movies. I just went to POIs, then Fuel and Auto, and all the gas stations that are listed had fuel prices next to them. This first time I tried it, there weren't any listed, but maybe it needed a minute to download. I have a GMC, but I don't think it would be any different for the Chevy.

My truck is on the way but the truck I'm driving will not display POI information if the zoom is not set within a certain range. If it's zoomed out too far, they are disabled. You might try it with different zoom levels. That should be covered in the manual as well.

I have a new 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel with this same problem: XM Travel Link subscription, but the Travel Link Icons are missing: Fuel, Weather, Movies.

I have cleared, reset, refreshed the radio about 6 times, but this only deletes all the custom settings and addresses I have entered each time. No new Icons.

The latest feedback from Chevy Cust Support was if I had Navigation and a Travel Link subscription, I should have the icons. XM Advanced Tech Support finally said I needed to go to the dealer for a software update. Funny, I had just COME from the dealer where I had made and APPOINTMENT for a SOFTWARE UPDATE. But when I got there the service people didn't know anything about it and told me that the software in my radio was the latest version.

The maddening thing is that XM Travel Link is a SPECIAL FEATURE for this PARTICULAR MODEL to help find DIESEL stations. The NAV POI sends me to GAS stations.

I'd like to see the software versions for someone's radio that has the Fuel Icon.?

I finally found the fuel stations and movie theaters on MyLink. It is totally ridiculous how GM has hidden this. And yet on other MyLink radios, it is an icon that can be added to the home screens. WTF were they thinking....

Here are the instructions for the 2014 MyLink for accessing the XM Travel Link fuel prices and movie theaters. (going by memory right now)

On the Nav screen,

Press Destinations at bottom of screen

Next screen, do not enter a destination, but press POI in lower right corner

Next screen, select Fuel and Auto Services

Next screen, select Fuel Stations

On the next screen you should get a listing of the fuel stations within 20+ radius of your GPS location. You can sort by distance or price.

Perform similar process for movie theaters.

In the 2014 Camaro, you press the fuel icon on the home screen.

I'm afraid that's not a solution. Don't let GM get rid of you that easy.

My UHQ radio only has the destination choice for fuel as 'Gas Station'. Not very useful for a Diesel vehicle! And mine does not even provide prices for the gas.

As for Movies. Travel link is supposed to provide show listings with show times, not just direct you to the closest theater.

And Weather, is that a destination?

GM is going to have to come up with some different software, or a different king of reboot to fix this one.

BTW in the Quick Info: Navigation Info: screen it lists the active XM subscriptions:

XM Traffic Subscription: Subscribed

XM Travel Link Subscription: Subscribed

The last software and version listed in my UHQ is (Car Build date 11/13)

23164647 Version: 30.5F.06.20

(I would put them all in here, but my computer won't let me paste into this window for some reason.
