Well it’s taken a solid month but my sheet metal crew finally finished my custom skid plate. Made out of 24 gauge stainless steel, type 304. This design is meant to look just like the SDHQ skid plate and come in way under budget :)

It’s made out of one piece of flat metal, bent and cut to fit. Weight about 10-20 lbs. Tow hooks cutouts and all, every edge has a hem on it. Got the truck up to about 95+ MPH and not one noise on the highway.

Made 1 small mock-up, 1 test mock up out of 26 gauge galvanized metal, and then this final.

I scrubbed it down last night with a metal brush, primed, and painted flat black. Blends in nicely. Best $100 I’ve ever spent. Beats the $500+ prices I’ve seen out there.

That is one sharp looking front end! Is that a BumperShellz cover?

Moved the bumper to accommodate the tires. Apparently Nitto doesn’t realize 295/60-20 is supposed to measure 34” and not 35”.

295/60/20 Trail Grapplers are 34.45" tall when mounted on an 8.5" wide wheel according to Nitto.

I know this isn’t as scientific. But 295/60-20 is supposed the measure to 33.9 if you do the math...e99eb8a9c4021e4c0c5a49ed9894b6bc.jpg
35” and roughly 12.5 is what my redneck wand shows

Oh wells. Damage is done.

Thanks for the info from Nitto. I haven’t seen that on their website.

I was on the fence with the 3 piece design but after seeing a picture in my actual color I like how it looks and glad to know it holds up well! Do you by chance have a picture of the rear one you could post?

Here my rear shell. They fit under the top trim panel. Holds everything extremely snug.

Thanks! Any difficulty getting it all lined up?

@ChevyRoofer  I'd still like to see it in blue if possible!

Yeah, most tires are not exact per the math.  Always best to check their site for tire specs.  Truck looks good.  I am also running that same size, but on stock wheels and in the Ridge Grapplers.  Mine gets super close to the fender liners, but no rub.

Couple more pages back.  Page 932 on this thread.

Thanks and it looks great as does the rest of your truck! (I check this thread regularly for ideas and not sure how I missed that entire page!)
