What have you done to your K2 today?

Wow, awesome. I think that's my next mod. I have a 2018 6.2L. I'm jealous. Did you touch any internals? How does the 8 speed transmission hold up? Rear end, axles, drive shaft, etc?

Thank you! All I've done other than the blower is an Elite Engineering E2X catch can and a Black Bear tune for the ECM. I'll be swapping to a 2015 TCM so I can tune the 8-speed transmission and I'm planning on doing water-methanol injection. I really think I'm going to stop there with the engine because it's plenty and it's all too easy to go down the rabbit hole with performance mods (if you do this mod then you have to do this mod which means you really should do this mod...you know how it is). After the engine mods I'm going to do a rear sway bar (maybe a front too) and some Calvert Caltracs for my traction bars. And then that's IT!!! But I'll have to get some new tires too =)

And to answer your questions about how everything is going to hold up. From what I've read, it's all going to hold up fine because what I've done is pretty conservative. It's low boost, no crazy cam, no headers, etc. KNOCK ON WOOD.

2014 Sierra. Bought last fall and have been waiting all winter to put stuff on...

20x9 GEAR Alloy w/ 275/55/20 Atturo Trailblade XT’s. Lowered back 1” by removing the blocks. Added Bugguard and vent visors and mud-flaps. Nothing to crazy, but, I think it looks bad ass.

More information on the to swap. I have a 17 with a 6.2 8 speed.

So, I can FINALLY let the cat out of the bag now that Black Bear and a few others have posted that they are doing the TCM swap (well sort of...Black Bear won't be doing too many swaps because the cost of a T87 is really high).

Many months back I tried to let people know that Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester (COW) could tune a 2017 8-speed with EFILive without having to send it to HPTuners, but I couldn't saw how he was doing it. Well, now you know. It was actually quite sad that everyone bashed Chuck when he said he could do the tune. He was way ahead of the curve and people bashed him just because they didn't know what he knew.

Took these off and replaced with pro tuning labs chrome headlamps that have the less that turn amber when signaling.

They fit great.

downside is my morimoto hid kit would not work as the new lights use an h11 bulb.

also added an aftermarket Denali grille

fitment looks great head on but when looking at the side you see a small gap.

will post more pics tomorrow

sorry pic is upside down.

Well it’s taken a solid month but my sheet metal crew finally finished my custom skid plate. Made out of 24 gauge stainless steel, type 304. This design is meant to look just like the SDHQ skid plate and come in way under budget :)

It’s made out of one piece of flat metal, bent and cut to fit. Weight about 10-20 lbs. Tow hooks cutouts and all, every edge has a hem on it. Got the truck up to about 95+ MPH and not one noise on the highway.

Made 1 small mock-up, 1 test mock up out of 26 gauge galvanized metal, and then this final.

I scrubbed it down last night with a metal brush, primed, and painted flat black. Blends in nicely. Best $100 I’ve ever spent. Beats the $500+ prices I’ve seen out there.
