What have you done to your K2 today?

I read somewhere that lifting a truck throws off the speedometer. Would putting a bigger tire on an OEM 20" rim with no lift do the same?

Anytime you modify tire or wheel size it will change the speedometer accuracy.

It's not lifting the truck that throws off the speedometer, it's when you change the tire, As in the actual rubber, size. If you have a truck that is stock and another that is lifted up 20" and both have 33" then the speedometer would be no different on the lifted VS the stock. However if you threw 40" tires on the lifted truck without having the speedometer recalibrated, then that's when everything gets thrown off.

So I'm running 275/55R20 right now. If I move up to 275/60R20's would that throw it off?

Yes but it's not a huge bump in size so it wouldn't be drastic, but I would still have it recalibrated so that everything stays running the way it should.

If you don't recalibrate it, then the truck will still think it is running smaller tires and therefore will this that it is traveling slower than it really is and less distance than it is. The bigger tire travels a greater distance in one revolution compared to the smaller original tire. So speedometer, odometer will be thrown off. And therefore MPG ratings will not be properly calculated and it would be more of a guessing game when the truck needs to have the oil changed

For what it's worth, the way to tell how tall a tire is, for anyone who doesn't know or is curious, the first number (in this case, 275) is the width of the tire in MM, and the second number is the percentage of the width that the sidewall measures. So the sidewall is 60% of 275mm in this case. Take that and convert it to inches, multiply by 2, and then add the size of the rim and that's how y'all the tire is.

I did quite a bit of research on tires when I was really looking around for what tires I wanted to put on. I also know how to tell when a tire was made. Or atleast which week of which year it was made in haha

Hahaha no prob. I have a bit of an obsession with needing to know as much as possible before buying anything. So I usually do probably a bit too much research on things, which usually leads me to fun little facts such as telling when a tire was made or how tall it is.

Sprayed Plastidip on all the front and rear badges.

badges look good.......these pictures confirm it though......mine is the same but it is just disappointing how much orange peal is in these new paint jobs........that is the best GM could do really ?
