What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

Ordered tailgate lightbar, will be installing soon. Already have 2" RC leveling kit and Nitto trail grapplers. Does anyone know how I ID which wire I tap Into for the reverse function of tho lightbar? Any help would be appreciated!

No David, but thanks for noticing. It is simply a vinyl design my graphics guys installed to match the black and white checkered vinyl stripe at the top of the windshield.

Like what you did by wrapping your front lower air-dam. Am curious to know how you wrapped the edges and what steps you took to prevent peeling at the edges. Did you use a primer at the edges and trim with a clean cut along them (edges) or wrap to-the-backside?, some detailed and close-ups of the side and bottom edge would be greatly appreciated.

As I stated, like what you've done and am considering doing the same to my Ser-Den (summit white) but would want it to be durable and lasting hence all the questions. Thanks.

Rick, I will tell you, it was a real pain in the butt to wrap. It took my Xpel guy and me about two hours to get it done. First let me say, no I do not think it is going to be very durable, and he didn't even charge me labor for it because he didn't think it would last. First, the vinyl isn't much thicker than saran wrap so that made it much more difficult to install. It is made by Avery, which he said was one of the best products on the market. He had to use a heat gun to convince it to stick to the two grooves, at the top and bottom. We just wrapped the edges around to the back. He did put separate pieces of each end to make it look better. If it had gone on better, I would have had him to possibly cover it in Xpel also, That certainly would have made it more durable. I have enough of the film left to give it another shot when he gets time to play with it. Right now, it still looks great, but I haven't driven it except a few short errand runs here in town. I will post up if it becomes a total flop, or if we improve it to the point where I could whole heartedly recommend it. Thanks for asking, however, for now, it is still an experiment in progress.
