What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

Uhm... I mean technically I did it for all of your K2’s? ;)

I'm trying to figure out what's happening here. The product page shows it as an OBD plugin. Are those menus already in the truck but not enabled for our use? I understand the concept of secret menus, we use them in our products as well for development and debug, and we leave them behind for repair debugging if they return.

Or, is the menu programmed into the OBD dongle and it forces its way in?

I know early 2014 1500s had the high idle feature in them enabled by mistake, it was originally intended for diesels. I'm suspecting that menu already existed. The device just brings it to surface.

Not sure if you can tell because of the bright sun, but I got my windows tinted. 5% in the back passenger and sliding window. And 25% on the front two. Subtle but it makes a huge difference for out here in sunny SoCal

You may never get pulled over for your windows, but your front side windows are (close) too dark.  But I agree with your reasoning for tinting your windows.

When I moved back to CA (born/raised) from NM, my back three were limo-tinted, and the driver/passenger doors (2-door model) were kind of dark, no darker than any NMSP, or any other LE vehicle in NM, still had NM tags (valid residency in Portales), and a "Cannon AFB" DOD sticker.  I wasn't in the state more than 15 days, driving back to Edwards from Ridgecrest, was watching my niece & nephew for the weekend (APR96), and just as I got off of the highway and about to cross under the tracks & onto base property, there were all sorts of lights in my back window.  Wasn't speeding, nor driving recklessly/irresponsibly.  He only wanted to cite me for my windows.  De-tinting them SUCKED!!

Down here in the desert most police agencies are okay with tint for how hot it gets (120°+). But it also helps that I am also part law enforcement. Tint is usually the last thing you get pulled over here for.

Where was that train of thought back in '96?  NM got quite hot too, but nothing like out here in the AV.

People will eventually ask, does it allow you to turn Stabilitrak OFF and keep ABS ON at the same time?

Got an Undercover Lux paint to match a couple of weeks ago. Was worried about the color match but it's spot on. Got installed for like 1359 tax and all (only $50 to install). 23134216946e8c6d2bf1a29686b15da6.jpg115b5d5153379bfc759758b943fdd5d2.jpg

Hey, looks pretty good! I've got graphite metallic paint as well. Best color introduced to the K2 IMO.

Thanks! It's a nice color, but on some days I hate it. I hate when it looks like a green color when the sun hits it, but then we mostly get grays which I love and then our truck looks black at night due to the color. It was probably their most unique color in the K2 gen. I think with the all black wheels and sidewalls on the tires, it helps bring out the color more making it look much better.

Nice and you have a very nice view there. My family is from Pierias outside of Athens. Enjoy your trip and have some souvlakia for me. :)
