ha... forget about "new car smell" when STRM opens up his truck door...  i thought they smelt bad... on the outside!  ha! ha!

also - STRMTRPR.... you mentioned white leather interior....  my neighbour had an old mustang a few years ago and got the interior redone and did white leather.  he LOVED the look but it was brutal to keep clean.  he often wore jeans and quickly noticed the seats were becoming blue.  he tried everything to keep the seats white but it was a losing battle.  odds are they will discolour fairly quickly.  heh...  perfect time to use another classic solo quote:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYX-NSZMqt0

Today, I drove out to Edwards AFB, picked up my wife after we dropped off her CR-V for its first set of new tires, drove to Rosamond for breakfast, Lancaster for some shopping, Mojave to go talk to CHP, Tehachapi to buy a couple diodes for some light mods, back to Rosamond to grab my hitch (forgot it when I left the house this morning), back to Edwards AFB to pickup wife’s car and a trailer for tomorrow’s parade in Boron, and then home for the night.  Crossed the 400 mile mark and the 500 mile mark.  Truck and trailer are out front ready to go.  Will post pictures after the parade, when I have them.

Drained my differential fluid after the first 500 miles of driving with my new 4.56 gears per Yukon’s instructions. On the day the gears were installed, I placed two DX06SH magnets on the OUTSIDE of the differential cover. These magnets are remarkably strong 37-59lbs of pull force) and are made to withstand high temps. They are about the size of three stacked quarters. Here is a pic of the inside of the cover where all the sludge was attracted to the magnetic field of these magnets. Glad this stuff wasn’t allowed to float around and contaminate my new bearings. For comparison, look at the fill plug to the left where the factory magnet is INSIDE and in contact with the fluid.

.. action shot of auto tailgate

https://youtu.be/U5JF6jdJlfY

.. opens great via gravity - stock rake parked at ~6° decline ..however with the tonneau closed the seal across the top of the tailgate puts enough pressure/drag on it to keep gravity from opening.. original plan was to install a door popper for shaved doors but I don't think something that strong is required .. need to mull over some other options

Is there a part number for these?  Trying to search with just keywords seems to bring up so much random crap but I'm not finding these.

Yeah, it's funny you say that. I've been watching that. Very interested to see the final outcome. Makes me wonder if they will release a cover for the 1500.
