2014+ Truck Bed / Tonneau Covers

Recommended Posts

It does wave (Flutter) a bit but not like a flag would and no noise... I've seen traces of water in the bed after driving in some heavy rain... It worried me at first but I have never had anything wet... It's such a small amount and only when poring...

Ok so I just ordered the access lorado and a bedrug bedmat from auto anything. Did it over the phone. Overnight shipping and honestly was great customer service as I need this stuff by friday (last second trip). Didn't get the tailgate seal but may just run to HD and make a dig seal

I have only had mine a couple of months, but I love it.....wouldn't change my choice a bit.

I wanted one that was water tight (or close) and was secure for trips....didn't make noise on the interstate....good flush low profile fit that didn't cover any of the Chevrolet logo on the side rails......it was honestly the only cover that could check off all those that I found.

Plus you can open and close the tailgate without touching the cover....another plus :)

Only thing I could see happening on my Revolver is the vinyl wearing out where the tailgate rubs going up and down on, but it's still a better seal type than the Roll X. That being said, I had my Roll X on my 11 for 4 years with zero issues even after slamming into the latch lever and bending the crap out of it a couple times.

Can anyone with the Revolver X2 comment on the water tightness of the cover? I have read in this thread that it isn't water tight, but I am not sure how much water leaks into the bed during a strong rain. If I had luggage in the back and drove through a rain storm for several hours would the luggage get wet?

Also, is the revolver X2 hard to roll-up in cold weather? I live in NY so below freezing is a common occurrence.

Just installed a Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite with their caddie and have to say I am very impressed. Probably one of the more expensive systems out there, but it looks great, functions great, and is 95% watertight.

How do you like the caddy? I was toying with buying it for mine when I first ordered the cover.

In the end I decided to wait on it and just got the cover for now. Then, about two weeks later while picking up some stuff at Costco I saw they had these black bins with yellow lids (they have them again at the store now). I bought one for some other stuff (collectibles/wargaming stuff) to store. I tossed them in the back with the other junk I purchased. After I got home I noticed from the back that it seemed to be almost perfectly sized to be half as wide roughly of the interior of the truck bed. So, I pushed it all the way forward then opened the front hatch and found they were pretty darned close to a perfect fit. So, I went back and bought two more specifically for the front of the truck. They stay in place without problem. They are also reasonably easy to open. I might try and make some sort of hinge on the inner side but haven't needed to yet.

I LOVE my cover overall though. Took a while to get it adjusted right though (mostly user error in the end). But, seems pretty good now. I do still need to adjust one of the front locks but it hasn't been an issue with it functioning at all.

I really like my G4 Elite. I am still having a little leakage in the front also. But much better than right after the install. I don't think my installers had very much experience with that cover, so I might have been able to do a better job, but they were doing my AMPs and Opt7 so I just let them do it all. Since I am in Phoenix my biggest issue with leakage really is a car wash. Not like we get more than about 15 days of precipitation a year. So I just live with the way it is. It is probably 90% water tight.

I installed mine myself. It wasn't too bad, like I have said in previous posts it was the adjusting that took forever. As for leakage I really haven't noticed much lately. Which opt7 did you go with?

I think the caddy is fantastic! It's the whole reason I chose Fold-a-Cover over other suppliers. Everyone I show it to goes "Wow!". It fits really snug, and I can remove it in about 60 seconds with a second pair of hands if I need more box space. The adjustable tray option is really handy, especially in a Reg Cab, where I don't have a back seat to throw a few bags of groceries. That's what i use the tray for mostly, or for storing anything I need quick access to.

Redline 60" That sucker is bright. I picked Opt7 because of a recommend here. My accessory dealer sold a couple of other brands and thought he could get me one. He couldn't so I bought it on Amazon and they installed it. I have seen a few trucks driving around with LED Bars and I have to say I don't think anyone can touch the Opt7. Clean and super bright!

If you have the header seal in the right place you will only get a little water around the tailgate, every cover is going to leak there unless you get a tailgate seal.

I can't comment on the cold weather since I've only had mine a few months....but I have read it does get a little stiffer in the really cold weather.

That is the same one I bought. LOVE it. Mine is not perfectly straight though (I should have taken the tailgate off to line it up). No one seems to notice but me hehe. It is bright. I chose to go w/ a 5-pole trailer T connector when I hooked it all up so it plug and play.

yep I called them yesterday and a new bulkhead is on the way.

Regarding the rack setup, I need a setup where I can carry 5-8 kayaks up top, while having my bed free and secured with a cover. The Bak covers are compatible with this rack which I will be getting soon as I have the funds.

Looks easy to remove, i.e. steal.

Got my Retrax Powertrax One MX. I thought I had ordered the more expensive one, PowerTrax Pro MX. Even called the factory to make sure I had the right part number before I had a local dealer order it. I don't know where the screw up happened. I can't remember. I ordered it and didn't want to pay the shipping so it took about 8 weeks to get here. At least they didn't charge me for the more expensive one! You don't pull the plastic off the cover until the install is done, so I didn't notice until I was finished installing it. I've decided to just keep it. I could never get it packaged up good enough to ship it again with out damaging it. And, this one is less likely to leak since the cover is a solid polycarbonate (lexan). I put silicone up front where the bed sides meet the front panel. Been to the car wash and drove through rain and haven't noticed any water in it yet. I think I'll order the tailgate seal as well.

The thing is pretty neat. It's a little jerky when you open and close it, but it's getting better. If it holds up I'll be pleased with it.
