2014+ Truck Bed / Tonneau Covers

Recommended Posts

Mine arrived today.  Took about 20 minutes to install.  It does seem to be a good, quality cover albeit a ~$220 cover.  Is it a truxedo, no, but it's also $300 less than the one I was looking to get.  The locking mechanism seems well built and if you have a locking tailgate will secure the bed as much as a vinyl cover can.

Any questions, feel free to ask and I'll answer them.

FYI - The vinyl cover is not removable from the frame that I can see without removing the bar across the bulkhead that it's mounted to.  That said, as easy as it is to install this thing, should you need to remove it it could be out of the way in 10 minutes if you left the side rails in.

Gah. It’s a tough call. I know the Truxedo will last as long as I’ll have the truck.

I think I’ll sit on this decision for a bit.

Could you post a picture of the cover rolled up?

Are the rails indeed curved on the low profile Tyger? If yes, do they tend to flip the wrong way?

I’m sorry, that is one of the most hideous looking bed covers I’ve ever seen and the edges look like an ER visit in the making.

Yeah, real industrial looking, lol

I was talking about the actual "Diamondback" brand (not just the name of the cover).  They make diamond-plated aluminum covers that have tiedowns, rails, etc.  They are welded and lockable.  Here is just one example:

Definitely look to be heavy duty but just do not like anything flip up when you can just slide open and close. Thanks for sharing.

Actually if you want real security Diamondbacks are probably the best (but some people don't like the "industrial" look):

Looks to be a sturdy fold down like having full wings top of tool box but this setup doesn’t allow you to use your truck bed as a carry all. I previously mentioned RollNLock because it has four locking mechanisms lock points (bed and tail gate) and can be used as heavy load carrying just by rolling back the thick aluminum panels back into the roll bin. These seem to be more of a favorite for companies carrying large bins fitted into the truck bed carrying supplies etc. RollNLock is heavy duty and sounds Industrial like a industrial garage door opening and closing and can be locked at three positions if required. IMHO, though sturdy looking and lockable, the diamondback is not a useful bedcover for a standard truck owner causing limited use of truck beds.

I have a Bakflip MX4 for sale. New. One problem, the rods that hold it fully open are too long.  If you don't plan to open it or can fix it, this is the top for you at a big discount. Let's say $700 plus shipping.

You can cut the rods or call Bak and im pretty sure they will ship you a new set they were accommodating for me and mine was used good company as far as I am concerned.
