Extang Solid fold 2.0

The good: easy to remove and install. No rails or hardware to fasten to your bed. It sits ontop of bed rails so you get maximum height for items under cover. Mostly water resistant. Car wash and downpour 99% water stays out. I think some comes in due to stake bed pockets. Panels are insulated and thick and stay cool to touch on bottom side.

The bad: expensive at $850. When it rains I can see the impressions the pads left when I drove with it open. It could have been better designed to match bed rail shape. Handles and spring clasps are all plastic.

I bought mine from the truck accessories dealer slightly used for about $400. He used it for a customer who had a $3000 lid in the paint shop and the guy needed a cover for a week. My new Silverado had one of the high $$$ roll back covers and i had them take it off so I could keep the solid fold from my 15 Sierra. It's so easy to use, I couldn't be happier, just have to watch tearing the foam blocks with large items with the lid closed.

Got my new Truxedo Sentry CT hard roll up  installed last night. It's a brand new cover for them that has a canvas top rather than the shiny vinyl. It's got an almost flush profile.  So far I really like it.  Not cheap but seems worth the price.  I will report back if any issues come up.

Looks nice, do the sides lock or can you just separate the Velcro and get in?

I have a Bakflip MX4 for sale. New. One problem, the rods that hold it fully open are too long.  If you don't plan to open it or can fix it, this is the top for you at a big discount. Let's say $700 plus shipping.

They seem to lock into the channels.  When I pull the velcro up I can't pull the slats up to get in.

How do you like it? Would you buy it again? If money was not an object would you also? I really like the retrax pro mx but don’t want to drill holes and My experience with Bak has not been very good.

So far so good. No issues. I would buy it again. I live in MN so I liked that even though it has the flat profile like the Bak it has velcro down the sides. I think that will be better than the Bak for my climate.

TripleBGM The rods are not to long! Turn the thumb dial and slide the mechanism up. Put the rods in place and slide the mechanism back down and turn the thumb screw.

The thumb dial has already been unscrewed and the slide mechanism has already been moved up as far as it can go.

I thought the same thing( to long) but I just push the cover towards the cab a little and the rods will fit in the slots. I was going to shorten the rods but I kinda like the tighter fit.
