I have an Undercover Flex tonneau cover and my question is: Is it the cover that's poorly designed or is the the way the tailgate fits up with the bed? I have tried several different fixes, including making the side seals longer, adding a tailgate seal and a bulkhead seal for the front bed rail without any luck. I'm attaching a couple of pictures that I took from inside the bed with the tailgate and the cover closed. You can see the daylight, and this is aggravating because I can't put anything in the bed that I don't want to get wet. Thanks.

Do you have that gap or opening when the cover is open?  I know my truck does have a bit of a gap at upper corners of the tailgate. However, they were there before I installed my Bakflip.  I don't get any water in my tailgate though.

Yes, there's a gap in the corner when the cover is open also. I'm going to a Chevy dealer for service this Saturday, and I'm going to ask them if they have any suggestions. Thanks.

How much is that going to run you? I filled out info on site for more info on the product and haven’t gotten a reply yet.

My local dealer quoted me $860 installed.  I asked him what the uninstalled price was thinking I'd do it myself and save some bucks and it was the same price, so with my work schedule it will be put on this coming Wednesday by them and pictures should be uploaded that evening as well.

Went to the dealer and they didn't find anything wrong with the alignment of the bed cover or any other issues. Guess I'm just screwed, I wasted $1000 on a cover that won't allow me to put anything of value in the bed of my truck. I sent a private message to Chevy Trucks on Facebook on 4/14, can't even get a reply to my message. Piss poor customer service, but I guess they got their money and the hell with the customer after the sale.

For what its worth, I have a Tyger Auto soft tri fold cover I got on Amazon for $210 and it seals all the way around.  I don't get any water in the bed even washing with the power washer. Fit was great and easy to install.  I can take it on and off by myself in about 3 minutes if needed.

does anyone know if you can still put a divider tray in the bed with a tri-fold? Looking at a bak flip but can't find anything on a divider tray so stuff doesn't slide to the back of the bed when you put it in there...

To follow up with Tim17c, I too can see daylight in the corners but this is between the tailgate and side of the bed. The cover makes a good seal all around the bed. We have had a lot of rain the past 2 days and my bed is still dry.

I have a different cover than both of yours, but could still see daylight through the corners.  Didn't get a lot of rain, and what did come down essentially never got over the ridges of the bed floor, but it was irritating.  Installed a couple extra pieces of the seal kit in those spots both on the gate and the sidewall, and it virtually eliminated the light AND the water flow.  Doesn't look too bad either....

Try some of this to fill the gap...

That's almost identical to what I used.  The GM design has a significant gap at the top of the sidewall/tailgate interface anyhow, so (IMHO) any cover you purchase is going to leave that gap unaddressed.  The extra weatherstripping does help.

I hate to "that guy", but you have a pick up truck, not a Suburban.  The tail gate was never intended to be water tight.  Even with a camper shell or a 1 piece cover, that gap will always exist on a truck.  If you have "valuable" stuff that can't get wet, put it inside.  If it's too big for inside, maybe you should have a 'burb or a van.

The tonneau cover on my truck combined with a little weather seal keeps my bed 99% dry and if I did a little more work I could keep it 100% dry...

I believe you.  Mine stays 97-98% dry with my cover and I didn't try real hard to make it perfect.  But dry from a rain storm or car wash is not the same as light proof, or truely water tight.  Even if I thought mine was 99-100% dry, I wouldn't trust it to anything that absolutely could not get wet.  Besides, if it can't get wet, it probably wants to stay clean, and I get some dust in my bed even with the cover closed.

Even with the extra weatherstripping, mine will still let 2-3 trickles of water into the bed.  It's kinda turned into a game for me, to go open the cover after a rain and see where it leaked.  Every blue moon it'll be along the bedrails at the junction of two of the panels, which makes sense;  you can't seal the side of the hinged joint when it sits up over the rails, right?

Either way, mine is dry enough that I'd haul almost anything I needed to, including wifey's luggage, with no fear of it getting wet.
