Radio Reception Issues

Recommended Posts

Now they want to know what stations I listen to. Why does it matter? Offered Sirius for a year. Told them I was keeping my trucks longer than a year. See what's next. The saga continues.

The fact that they have a an April tsb with a software update for radio static tells me they admit there is a problem. Unfortunately the lemon law in most states only applies to issues that significantly impact the value of the vehicle, so we lose leverage in having them fix the problem. I still want to know if the issue is the bose speakers. Does anyone with radio fm issues have it with the regular Stock speakers?

Yes, my FM radio sucks with standard speakers. I believe the Bose speakers exhibit the problem more because they have better high frequency performance and all the "noise" is high frequency.

Again, radio reception sensitivity is within bounds but there is little or no FM noise reduction so you hear all the multipath "swiching" and fade noise like a $5 radio. I believe the GM engineers blew it when they wrote specifications for the radios by other manufacturers than Delco or Delphi. The radio in my 2016 is an LG.

I have not had a chance yet to bring it back to the dealership to see if the can put in non-bose speakers. But as I have mentioned before, I have the 2014 SLT model. I have been in multiple loaner trucks which were only SLE, and did not have the Bose Speakers and they sounded great. No static in AM or FM radio.

I'm now past my 36,000 miles and they BETTER not give me grief about trying to fix speakers. Because I have invoices showing they tried but no fix yet....

I get it, Lemon Law will not work because it does not effect the safety of the vehicle. :( Little leverage here.

Well, I'm sitting with a celebratory drink as I write this. I am happy to say that I received an offer letter from GM today, It is literally everything I had asked for. They are buying my 2015 Chevy Silverado LT back. Not going to go into all of the details, But I will have my 2017 Sierra Denali in 10-12 days max. I have to do some paperwork and have it notarized and then it back as does the dealer. Then GM has to process it and we get out close date.

I can't believe the fight is finally over
