Radio Reception Issues

Recommended Posts

Just putting this out there, confirm for yourselves. About a year ago I had 2 blown speakers in my Camaro I took it to a high end, very reputable stereo shop. The installer told me the speakers will be destroyed if there is static in the receiver. He told me that is the biggest cause along with a CD that skips etc. GM needs to come up with a fix, this is going on since July that I am aware of.

My truck is still at dealer for radio reception problems (will be there tommorrow also). Dealer found found a radio code that needs to have tech support involved. They also compared with another 2014 Silverado and found FM reception to be close to mine, but my radio dropped the HD much more than other Silverado.

DMD277, I will let you know what they say.

I would let them know now instead of waiting. I spoke with multiple people from GM and they claim there are no complaints about FM reception issues. If they cannot fix my radio, I am pursusing a buy back from GM. The only problem is that I added $$$ accesories.

I have already opened a case with GM, told me there was no resolution at this point.

Here is how GM's email address work.

Here is a list of the executive officers of GM. Last time I ran into a block I emailed everyone over these people, several got the email and with in 25 hours I had a high up person contact my friend and with in 2 days his buy back was in process on his car.

My truck is at dealer again today for FM radio reception issues / HD radio issues. Dealer is dealing directly with GM tech services this time.

It sounds like you got tired of waiting on them to fix it. I was crossing my fingers that you were onto something with them. The radio reception still bugs me daily. Dealer said works as it should.

Feb 20, 2014 NO FIX for FM.

Sooo , it is just as I suspected. 21 pages of complaints and GM has no knowledge of the problem. What in the H have Jennifer and her little band of do nothings been doing. If they did the things they claim to do, the father land would have knowledge of this and every other problem talked about on these forums. Yes I know that we are a small number, I have talked to at least 4 new owners in parking lots and gas stations who hate the radio, but were unaware of this forum. So the number represented here is far less than actual problems or no problems overall. Even the company that does the radio says this problem is in over 50% of the trucks, and GM is aware of it, but admitting it would greatly effect the _____

My service manager told me the same thing. GM has not had complaints about FM radio reception. I know that several owners on this site have contacted their dealers and GM. It makes me wonder.
