Messenger

Don't be afraid to utilize the forum's messenger function to send other members messages (aka PM's) with your specific questions about their truck. They’re on a GM truck forum, so it’s likely they're GM truck enthusiasts, and will enjoy talking about their vehicle!

New Topics

If you have a question or comment, PLEASE browse the forum and run a SEARCH before posting! Doing so will help avoid re-posting of questions & comments that have been answered & addressed in previous topics. Multiple topics about the same subject makes the forum less effective for other members.

  • On a standard browser, the advanced search can be found by clicking the little gear symbol beside the search box and green magnifying glass
  • On most mobile browsers, when you run the search, you can specify which forums/sub-forums you’d like to search.

The Search function does have difficulty locating topics/words that are 3 letters or less. If you attempt to search for words like "oil" or "E85" it may return very few or even zero results. Please attempt to always use additional words (greater than 3 letters) in your search to avoid any issues.

Google is a viable alternative to using the forum's search engine and does not have difficulty with words of 3 letters or less. In Google, enter your search terms, followed by a single space, and then type site:www.gm-trucks.com (example: "E85 Gas site:www.gm-trucks.com").

Also, Please read this announcement on "Topic Titles & Descriptions" before posting: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/forum-169/announcement-59-topic-titles-and-descriptions/

2014+ Sub-Forums

The 2014+ Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500 forum consists of the main forum and three additional sub-forums:

  • 2014+ Silverado & Sierra Issues, Troubleshooting, & Recalls/Service Bulletins
  • Gen V Small Block Engine, Drivetrain, & Exhaust
  • 2014+ Silverado & Sierra Accessories & Modifications

*Before posting a new topic, asking these three questions will help you select the appropriate forum/sub-forum:

1) Is the subject any type of issue, problem, complaint, question, etc, about GM-made trucks/components (including any designs/defects/failures/flaws/etc) -or- the resolution of of these issues by DIY means, warranty work, TSB's, recalls, etc, -or- you're just having difficulty finding/operating a stock function/component..?

If yes, post in the 2014+ Silverado & Sierra Issues, Troubleshooting, & Recalls/Service Bulletins sub-forum.

If no, go to question B.

2) Is the subject dealing with 2014+ engines (including AFM, gas mileage/MPG, factory programming, aftermarket tuning), transmissions, drive-trains, exhausts -or- any accessories/modifications to the topics just listed (including air filters, intakes, tunes, headers, gears, mufflers, pipes, etc)..?

If yes, post in the Gen V Small Block Engine, Drivetrain, & Exhaust sub-forum.

If no, go to question C.

3) Is the subject about any accessories for or modifications to the stock truck (including adding/modifying any GM-brand or aftermarket accessories, as well as any perceived upgrade to the truck) not already covered in the Engine/Drivetrain/Exhaust sub-forum..?

If yes, post in the 2014+ Silverado & Sierra Accessories & Modifications sub-forum.

If no, post in the main 2014+ forum.

Closing

I can’t stress enough how important it is to Search before posting, so PLEASE do so!

I understand the Search function isn't perfect, so please also take the time to browse the titles of the forum/sub-forum’s most recently posted topics, and chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Thanks!

Sorry guys, I made this topic 4-1/2 years ago. Back then, all the links worked, but I’m sure the forum settings have changed a good bit since then.

Side note: I was planning on coming back to GMC with the 2019’s but I just can’t get past that front end. So I bought another F-150 Platinum instead. Hopefully, I’ll like the 2024 GMC’s! Ha

Not sure if anyone is aware or not, but all the most common/popular topics links on this page link back to this page. So none of those work.

Well this post seems to be mostly useless.... What is the point of all the link coming right back to this page?

Copy and paste the URL listed into your browser. It's annoying, but it works.
