2014+ Power Tailgate Lock installed

Recommended Posts

ok so whats the final on the correct wires to tap into for a silverado for both one press unlock and 2 press unlock??

Go with this for Silverado, either at the BCM plug or the sill. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/156468-2014-power-tailgate-lock-installed/page-7?do=findComment&comment=1498774

I did what he said above that post - "Then I connected the blue and green wire to the grey/green and brown/yellow coming from the x6 bcm connector(pink) just to the right of e-brake pedal."

Blue wire goes to grey/green and green wire goes to brown/yellow.

Dont recall if it is a stripe or not but they are the only two with those combos on the connector. If you are using the door sill then these would be the fattest ones if there are others with the same colors in the sill.

Great mod. Very doable. Does anyone know of a constant power supply wire I could tap into while I've got the door sill plate opened for another mod I want to do? What are the wire connectors called that come with the kit?

My tailgate has become kind of hard to open lately when it is unlocked. Anyone else experience this with their pop n lock installed?

Still gotta be easier to open than when it's locked though, right? :D

Mine is still working well, but it's only been on for about 8 months.

Mine did that. The striker for the right side of the tailgate came out of alignment. I loosened it and adjusted it back to the original spot tightened it back up and it been fine. Look to see if your tailgate is closing flush.
