Halogen & LED Headlight Bulb Upgrades

Recommended Posts

Nice. so the whole led kit fits in the headlight assembly? And you spread the heat sink as much as possible? You wouldn't happen to have any comparison photos or any of how they project down the road?

No photos, except for one in my garage. I didn't install the high, low myself I bought them at a 4x4 shop in Canada on vacation (took advantage of exchange rate) and it took them about 45 minutes to install as they had to take the grill off the get the high beams in and spread heat sink properly. I haven't been out night driving to take any pics. Also, I live in Nevada and I did find that with the daytime running lights on sitting in traffic at 95f the led's did turn off and on because they were overheating it only happened once that I know of and as long as you are moving and there is air flow no issues.

Just an update: I received an email from xenondepot this afternoon saying that they are on back order and due to arrive in approximately one week. They also said that my order has been upgraded to "Rush Status" so that they will ship immediately upon arrival. I appreciated the email since in the past, with orders from Jegs and Autoplicity, I only found out my order was on back order by calling and inquiring about the delay in shipping.

I just placed an order for the xenon depot led headlight kit. i figured what the hell. If it doesnt fit can send it back. Im hopeful like you guys and will keep you updated as well

I'm sure you'll be happy with the purchase. If you do have any issues with the install like the unit not seating properly lubricate the o ring and it should clip right in.

Nothing yet. I sent them an email today inquiring about the status but they haven't responded yet.

Just an update, xenondepot responded to my email today. They said they're still waiting for the bulbs to arrive and it should be within a week. They said it'd ship out to me immediately.

I get my led headlight kit today. so hopefully I can put it in tonight or tomorrow.

Awesome, mine is supposed to be delivered today as well. I probably won't get to it until next week though. Please keep us updated on the install.

Anyone had any issues with LMZ LED lights, just curious. First my adapter to go from stock 5202 broke, but without changing the connector there isn't anything that can be done to make it better. They sent a new one right out. Now I had one bulb die. Fan still worked, but no light. There replacement for VLED is cool. You cut the wire and pull off the LED chip. Then take a picture and send it in to them. If it does show up today like USPS showed. Then that is 3 day replacement from 3000 miles away. Service is great. The light I'm unsure about though. I've had my HID twice as long and they are always on, so 30 times the use with not an issue. I thought LED would be more reliable.

Got my replacement bulb installed. I thought the other one looked dim, but figured it was because I was looking it during the day. Now I know that is not the case. My HID certainly have lost some punch, but still many folds above stock and fine with me. I'll probably just put new bulbs in every year or two on them. Not sure about these LED though as I don't even use them much and I'm sure they cost way more for the bulbs.
