110 volt AC outlet

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if this could be added to a WT2 truck. It is listed as an option but not sure if the wiring is there if it is not order through the factory. If so, what parts are need to add this option.

First thing would always be to pull part of the trim out to see if there is a taped up pigtail for it. If not, I expect it will be quite a bit of work to get the OE unit in place. Though I bet you could get the outlet and make your own with less fuss.

I have a 13" MacBook pro from 2010, it charges perfectly in the truck. First connect I had to reset it to get the green light on the truck to come on, every time after it works perfect. One thing I notice is how hard that receptacle grabs the plug. Need to make sure you don't rip it out of the dash when you disconnect

Same here. the plug works but I have had it trip out on an cell phone charger with no cell attached. I have to plug it in just right because the truck's plug seems a bit off. But usually after a few tries the green light stays on and does fine. It works on my Dell Latitude E6400. It was like this on both my 2014 Sierra's.

I just pulled the cig lighter/"storage box" off my dash. I have an LT.. don't seem to have an inverter plug set in there. :(

I have an inverter I carry around in my truck, but it's a bit overkill, and I dont know that I could use this factory plug slot in the console (I'm doing a console swap too) with that inverter. Sounds like a good way to void some warranties, or even start a fire.

Anyone happen to know the RPO code for the inverter itself? Maybe like an inverter prep or something?

Looks like my wife's crockpot (155W), is out of the question. She was excited about keeping stuff warm on the road this holiday.

It might be interesting to try, since the rating is close (150W). Maybe the crock pot is running slightly under?

Actually we went to my daughters for Thanksgiving and we ran a crockpot the last 1 1/2 hour of the trip. When we arrived the baked beans were steaming hot. It's a pretty big pot. Wife was very pleased, and of course that is all that matters. :)

I have used mine a ton of times and love it. Great during a power outage. Its parked close to the house, so a cord ran into the house, plenty of power to run 2 lamps with 60 watt bulbs. I changed to led bulbs. So at 10 watts per lamp. Enough amps to power up 15 lamps if i wanted.

Have used a crock pot in my truck several times. 155w is certainly the max. On the low setting it should be fine.
