My laptop is 300W. I have a 750W inverter I'll later be looking to wire to the outlet in the truck. At least I can have the clean factory look with some useful power.

What kind of laptop uses a 300W power supply? That's absurd.

A customized Sager NP9370-3D with i7-3840QM, 32GB or RAM, Dual GeForce GTX 680M graphics cards, 480GB Intel SSD, 750GB 7200 rpm second drive. So I can make videos or anything else I want on it like this one.

This is mostly of our two Unlimited motors. One is an 429ci LS7 and the other is a 468ci RHS based motor.

Gladly if I do, but it might be some time. I've got to many other things going on. I just did the mechanical install of my tailgate power lock and AMP power steps. I hope to finish the wiring this week if I can find time. Trying to gear up to put one of the standard 418ci motors from work in my Camaro.

Anybody know where the fuse is for the 110v outlet? Mine has not worked from the first time I tried it.

Thanks Andy

Sounds, to me, like the output of the 110V is square wave (cheapest way to produce AC) instead if sine wave, which we have in our homes. Square wave AC will not work on most applications that use a transformer to drop down the voltage and increase the current, like most of our electronic devices use. I run a cut off tool with mine and it works fine. Transformer type chargers should get hot and may even blow the fuse when connected to square wave 110V supplies. I've asked GM several times to tell me if the output is square wave and they either don't know or won't tell!

Just read through this topic and find it kind of rediculous that it's less than 200w. GMC should make the plug at least a 400w unit. My old Tacoma had a 400W plug in the bed of the truck by the tailgate, and it makes me wonder why the big three haven't followed suit. How awesome would it be to have a weather sealed dual AC outlet in the bed of the truck running 120v on a 15 or 20 amp circuit?

All power adapters that convert the AC to DC remove the wave no matter how the wave is provided. If they do get hot it's likely due to overloading of the AC current pull, not the wave. There usually is considerable power loss from this conversion, so a 100 watt adapter may very well be pulling 150 watts, etc etc.

Personally I don't understand the reasoning behind anything less than 500 Watts period. There are tons of inverters on the market today most around 300 watts, I've got a box full of 300 watt versions and one 700 watts they don't require anything special to work in just about any and every car and truck on the road. All truck makers should be ashamed at this invalid attempt at marketing...

That said, I'm wondering when/if we'll see an aftermarket upgrade kit for this outlet? Hmmmm....

You guys are asking for the moon. It's a 110v outlet inside the damn cab- obviously it's intended to charge laptops and other low impact stuff. And this stuff costs money, adding a high output outlet would add a few hundred dollars I bet to the MSRP when people already whine about price.
