4 Inch Fabtech Lift Kit?

Recommended Posts

I'm going with this kit next week. My wheels will even stick out further being 17 x9 4.5 inch backspace. Tires will be 295 70 17. I'm seeing a lot of the 2014's that are lifted with the bushwacker fender flares. I wonder if it's something that will just be needed with these trucks and their wheel wells. For info this is what BDS recommends for the 4.5 inch lift tire combo's.

4.5”Lift:
33 x 12.50 on 17x9, 18x9 w/ 5” BS
33 x 12.50 on 20x9 w/ 5.75” BS
32 x 11.50 on 17x8 w/ 4.5” BS

I called BDS to see if any of tire wheel combo will not portrude out to far. They said the 20" combo with the 5.75inch wheel and tire will be pretty even with the body of the truck. They mentioned you could go to an 18 x 9 with 5.5 inch backspace but you would have to go narrower than a 12.50. They may stick out a little as well. Fender flares might be the only option for me. Not really thrilled with them. I did see these from Smittybilt and they might look better than the bushwacker ones but that's subjective.

There is some available by EGR and Lund as well. The EGR rugged style fender flares for the 2014 Silverado are already on the market. We have the 6.5/8ft bed for part #751574 and for the 5.8ft bed will be part # 751674.

Bushwacker has this style now. A little less coverage.

Dam! I would have gotten those. I actually called Bushwacker about three weeks ago to ask if these were coming and they said no. I could have gotten them done and included in the financing.

Someone here asked me on my truck how close the rims where to the spindles. They are about and inch to the spindle and the tie rod end as well.

My tires on my truck are 10.8 inches wide and stick out approx 2 inches with a zero off set, 5 inch back spaced wheel.

Ok, I finally got into the shop today to do a few things to my truck and got a couple of pictures too. Not sure about the size of the pics so

I may have to post separately.

I tried to get a couple that show the wheels versus fenders. And my cheap vinyl GMC cover up :)post-125934-0-73420900-1391299282_thumb.jpgpost-125934-0-86302000-1391299290_thumb.jpgpost-125934-0-35173000-1391299398_thumb.jpg

I am thinking of the 4in BDS as soon as by truck shows up. Did you go with the block rear lift or replacement leaf springs? Also does yours still have some rake to it. I want my lift to have at least 1-2in to account for sag when towing.

I have the all terrain and like my 20's would I have to buy more rims for this setup? Leaning towards the 4" bds lift with fox rear shocks

I had emailed BDS because I want a 4IN lift and want to keep my stock 20s. They said they will fit for sure as long as the tire is 12in wide or narrower. a 12.5 wide may need a 1/4" wheel spacer but it depends on brand.
