Rear Slider Window Discontinued?!

Recommended Posts

I am betting his was already at status 3400 Broadcast when they pulled the plug. Meaning they had probably already sent the orders out to the suppliers for what was going to be on the truck.

Very possible, he'll get the workbench on it today and I'll get the actuall date it was built.

Waiting for dealer to call as I write. Dropped off the truck this a.m. for the Engine Fire recall update, and they informed me there were 4 total recalls to perform, one being the rear slider which was functioning perfectly with moderate use so far. Haven't had a rear opening window in 10 years, doubt I will go without one again.

My truck was built back in November, so I figured surely my VIN would be part of the rear window recall, but the dealer says its not showing up in their system. He says that it must have been fixed at the time of assembly. Only recall on my VIN is the fire hazard, which I had fixed yesterday. Still highly skeptical and am expecting to receive a notice at some point.

Interesting, I built my truck again today on GMfamilyfirst.com and noted the price went back up $250 which is the amount of the credit for deleting the slider. I checked the order guide again today and still only shows the slider available on HC and Denali. Could be one of a couple things, either the site build your own is wrong (very possible) or GM decided to ax the credit for the slider, or they are bringing it back (doubtful given no info in the order guide) Just figured I would pass this along.

I was at the dealer yesterday for my recalls and they unloaded a black loaded LTZ WITH a Rear Sliding Window. It was an ordered truck.

I saw 6 High Country's today and they all had the sliders, everyone one of them.

They have just gotten them in the last week or so too.

Has anyone actually ordered a power slide rear window successfully in the last couple of days ? I don't care if people are seeing trucks show up at dealers that have the window, as those could have been ordered prior to GM deleting the option. I would appreciate a definitive answer about this, as I will be talking to GM today in regards to the delay in them building my truck and might ask them to include it in my build if they can.

Have not used a rear slider in years. (Have one in mine now,all I really wanted was rear defrost).Last time was a few years back,my dumb a$$ friend opened it to put some 2x4's in the truck,.he had to slam on the brakes and they all exited the truck through the front windshield.

According to GM customer service it is now included on my order which has a TPW of 2-3-2014

Sorry, I'm a little behind the curve on sliding rear windows. I'd like one, but only plan on ordering/buying an LT model. Is there a manual option available from the factory, or do I have to get the power slider. Is the power sliding rear window even available on an LT?

Thanks,
