2014+ Lowering / Drop Kits

Recommended Posts

Holy crap you must have a huge front rake. I have a 4/7 with abkut 20lbs of sir in the helpers so it's about a 4/6. With 28" tire up front and 30 rear and I have a big rake. Why 4/5 and bit 4/6 or even 3/5?

the rake not to bad at all. I had the rear set out 6 inches and was bottoming out when I had the truck loaded down with people. plus I pull a big bumper camper and car hauler too from time to time. here are some pics

Picked up this 17 about a month ago, first thing I did was debadged it, got some factory painted mirror caps/handles, and black front emblem. Then I ordered a belltech 4/7 kit and had it installed, ended up putting in the 1" lift shackle cuz I like a little rake. Still debating about going down 1 more inch front and rear. Here's a few pics....

Your truck looks great!

I have been looking at the belltech drop kit after talking to a local shop, the kit in the link below is the kit they suggested. I'm currently on 18" wheels and love them, I plan on keeping them for a little while, I don't know why, I just like the way the smaller wheels look.

If you don't mind me asking what kit did you go with and what did it cost to install? any feedback is appreciated

Belltech is good stuff. How low are you planning on going and what year is your truck?? I paid 550 for my install but the guy has done a few kits for me so I got a deal. I went 5 in the front and got a new upper control arm from Inez hot rods so I don’t have to worry about camber issues. Let me know what year your truck is and which arms you have?

I have that kit minus the rear shocks I like it. No issues. But I am swapping the struts out for coilovers

Honestly. Next time I am going with the fill Inez hot rod kit. They do control arms and you can go 4-6 up front and the flip kit has shims built right into it to get the pinion angle exactly right. All for 720 including rear shocks.

Remember I told you about the tire getting pushed back into the fender well? Take a look at the inez k2 kits. They didn't even correct for that. That kit set at 4" is worse then your teuck set at 5. Ill pass on that inez kit. Most people don't look at things like that

Guess I never paid attention to that but if that is the case then I would stick with either belltech or mcg for sure. Can’t go wrong either way.

Can you elaborate on this?

I run the 4 inch DJM arms and McGaughys struts set at an additional 2 inches. I don't have an issue with front wheels being pushed back.

Djm arms correct the issue to a point. If you take a picture of the side of the vehicle. You'll be able to see it not much with yours. But if you went lower it would get worse

If I go any lower I can't drive it. Already damn near ride the upper inner fender if I have more than one other person in the truck. LOL
