2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

ive been listening to a lot of clips lately whats the concensus on aFe? the clips sound great nice deep rumble.

I've had mine on for about ten days and couldn't be happier sounds like a truck now, install was 20 min no cutting, done on jackstands sound is very good when you get on it, minimal drone in v4 can't hear it if you turn on the radio, for the price it's a great sound and good quality!

I simply cannot decide what exit i want. I like split rear on a lot of other vehicles but when i see it on the Silverados/Sierras it bothers me because they usually stick out too far for my taste or you can see a lot of the pipe running under the chassis.

Thinking about turn downs.

thanks, I've basically narrowed it down to dynomax VT and aFe, i just cannot justify the double the cost for magnaflow or borla. i've ben listening to sound clips and reading forums for damn weeks trying to decide haha

I did the same thing and I couldn't see spending that kind of money myself but I am very happy I went with the afe!

I've never bought a pre-made system. I always just go to the shop I normally go to and tell them what I want. They took everything from the muffler on back out, put in a Flowmaster Super 44 single in/dual out muffler that's coated with the 2 tailpipes and black chrome tips at 45° for a little over $300. That's parts and labor. I'm picky so I know what I want and I'm not going to look for a pre-made system because most likely it's not one exactly how I would want and I'm sure as hell not going to settle for something I don't really want.

I've wanted to do the same if I can find a muffler that gives a good deep throaty sound. I've heard the magnaflow 18 inch mufflers sound decent. Did you keep the flapper in or no

No, so I have the V4 drone but it doesn't bother me. I think someone on here tried moving the valve to the front of the muffler since they also went dual exits and it did away with the valve. I may try that but I'm not to worried about it right now. The Flowmaster Super 44 is very deep and aggressive. It's the best sounding exhaust I've ever had on a truck.
