Seen from the last pictures they used stock type hangers, when had duels installed on the 2012 he used universal type hangers with rubber strap. I really didn't like the unused bracket on side of the frame, maybe straps better about vibration don't know. Going to get more info before install on my new truck. All clean welds Magnafow muffler duel to rear with 18" chrome tips $389 on the 2012

found pictures of 2012 installed and answered my questions , Magnaflow muffler smaller than huge OE muffler and used different hanger and another mounting location

Anyone have an idea of where I'd be able to get black chrome exhaust tips. The ones are the far left are what I'm after.

Go online and type Black chrome exhaust tips and several suppliers are listed Summit Racing ,Carid and others. Maybe a Silverline tip

Has anyone tried a 14" magnaflow while leaving the flapper valve and resonator in place?

Yes. Sounds like the truck was farting. Then went with 14 inch with duel turndowns before the rear end. That sound was MEAN in V8. V4 sounds like you are trying to outrun a Blackhawk helicopter. Would not recommend unless you only use manual mode or have V4 tuned out. TRUST ME lol.

Straight thru. You will loose some back pressure and some low end Tq. BUT... around 3 or 4,000 RPM sounds and runs great.

GM did a buyback on the Red truck so the dealership didn't even look at it when I went in to pick up the Ruby truck. After I pulled out my good floor mats and put them in the Ruby truck to leave I made it a point to hang around for a min to watch the salesman pull the Red truck around back. He almost si#t his pants and immediately shut the truck back off thinking something was wrong.

So I'm guessing 18" magnaflow is the way to go. I would like to keep the flapper valve and resonator at first.

I wouldn't know. Sounds logical. Im thinking about trying a Flowmaster with the flapper and delete the resonator. IDK? DAMMMM V4!!!! lol. I still have a complete brand new exhaust system off the red truck. I can cut the flapper off it and run a Flowmaster 40 single in duel flappers out with turndowns. lol . HEY!.. That might just work. GENIOUS!

Am I the only person who actually LIKES the sound of V4 mode?

No. SouthernSilveradoGuy85 likes it too. I love drone. I once said embrace the drone. But it is pulsing, shaking , chopper that I don't like. What do you think about the double flapper idea?

I might just give it a try when it warms up a little.LOL Maybe put some external mini big rig style flaps. Like on the sportsman dragster headers. Nice and Redneck.

Ah, yes, I remember that post... "Embrace the DRONE!" I believe I quoted you on that a few times!

Yeah, I like the double flapper idea. Be sure to file a quick patent application. That way, when GM decides it's a good idea for all trucks, you'll be sure to get your cut!
