Wtf lol Gm ****ed that one up. What's the deal with this flapper I keep hearing about? Whats it for?

I think it is supposed to help cut down on noise or anything similar in the stock exhaust when the truck cuts down into V4. But most of us are getting rid of it when installing aftermarket exhausts

Correct... it's there to eliminate "drone" when the truck is in 4-cylinder mode. I personally, like to hear my exhaust. And, in particular, I like the sound of drone... but I'm sure I'm alone on this one. :D

Im getting 14" magnaflow single in/ dual out in front of rear tire right now. Hes leaving the 3rd converter in so I can hear it first and then cut it out if truck is too quiet. Patiently waiting.....

So the 14" magnaflow is plenty loud with the 3rd converter left intact, so gonna keep it like that. However, not fully sold on the location of the tips. Opinions? Leave it where it is or move it to exit behind rear tire in stock locstion?

Those tips would look pretty sweet behind the rear wheel... make sure they tuck them up close to the body as possible! (If they hang low it will look like a Ford Diesel! )

Mine...

I agree. Definitely get the tips moved to behind the wheel. I personally have never been a huge fan of the exhaust tips being infront of the rear wheels.

Did you remove the "flapper" valve and resonator? (BTW, I'm the one and only forum member who actually likes drone! )

Haha... I don't know... maybe it's because that B&B Fusion exhaust on my Vette is so dang loud; it's like being in a war zone! It makes the truck sound like a quiet breeze by comparison!

I have the 22" Magnaflow with valve and rez delete. At first I thought it was too quiet, but it's getting a little louder with some miles and I'm liking it more every day.

Drone is terrible with my 14" magnaflow. Thinking about buying that AFM delete device from Range Technology. Plug n play and can remove when you want the AFM for long trips and what not. Its 200 bucks though.

Do you only have the drone in V4 mode? Or does it carry over to V8 also?
